what an Idiot... first off the Optiplex GX270 had big issues with bluging and leaking caps which will cause your computer to freeze.. have errors.. restart on it's own.. second if you know it has bluging or leaking caps why are you still turning it on and running it.. all this will do is damage the computer further and in rare cases the cap will pop explode and even catch fire.. third if it was under warranty dell would have replace the motherboard.. forth MAC HP and a few other brands had the

Believe it or not opening a pc and running it will make it hotter, just make sure you have proper airflow. intake and exhaust fans equal should work.

I was impressed with my gx270 until it started quiting without any warning. I discovered about 5 of the 15 capacitors were bubbling over. Then I found out about how one of the chips can catch fire. Out it went. Trashed. Face it guys, dell is all about cheap computers. Better to buy something else than burn your house down. Been there, that really sucks, far worse than some pissy computer.

Hold F8 wile your computer is starting and choose something like "Dont restart on error" something like that.

And... Macs crash too you know, I would recommend Ubuntu Linux.

@agntroboy1995 first off dell doesn't make the caps Nichicon makes the caps.. secondly dell wasn't the only brand with this issue some model HP's and MAC's and other brands had the same problem because they bought the same bad batch of Nichicon caps... so you fail.... you have no clue what the fuck you are talking about

My Dell Optiplex GX270 is as sweet as it can be in fact am on it now...i said this once before and i'll say it to you a PC or MAC is only as good as it's owner if you know about computers then happy gaming porn watching and other stuff like that...but if you don't know shit about computers then you'll make videos like this

It dosen't matter if it a Mac or PC g4 and g5have this problem to more then the pc even. most computer between 2001-2004 have this problem.The problem is cause by bad capacitors all computer that used the blue and gold color capacitors are made badly they cheap electrolyte which end up dying up causes the gas to expand inside the capacitors. replaced all the 6.3 2200uf cap and you can also used the more commom 10v 2200uf will work to. you computer will run like new again.

Apple gets their capacitors from the same Taiwan based company that makes a majority of capacitors for IBM based mobos. Only difference is, Mac puts those capacitors in overpriced, overrated proprietary hardware. Don't get a Mac. Instead, steer clear of Dell and build your own PC, and put Linux on it. You'll be fine then.
