He was not the "warrior" everyone thought him to be, that was likely his younger brouther Allouet, a fierce and fearless fighter who resembled his brother closely in appearance. Joseph took care of the old people and the horses and usually ran like the wind when trouble brewed. The US Army was thrown upon their peaceful camps because settlers in Oregon did not want to give up their new homes in paradise. Oregon hasn't changed much....
I just finished watching "I will fight no more forever." I have watched it many times and it still make me sad, It is a very tragic and a smear on US History. I feel ashamed of my government and still feel great regret.
How come we don't learn these sort of stuff in public school? There are so many sad stories like these around the world and people need to learn about them so that history will never be repeated. That is not how you pronounce Wallowa. It's wa-LAO-wa. There is no mention of the need for Joseph to leave Wallowa other than gold. It was precipitated by the killing of some white settlers by young natives. Joseph realized that the army would come and that he would have to leave.

Look, I never told anyone I was presenting myself as anything to anyone... I am an amateur historian for my own edification and make these videos for my and my friend's behalf... So why don't you take your lectures about pronunciation to someone who wants to hear them and watch someone else's videos...

It is possible, just not in the way of ownership. That is what has enslaved most of americans today. A collective group of tribe declaring sovereignty and declaring no property tax and legalization of marijuana in indian territories would boom the economy so renewable energies could be produced. Well, done Pappy! Interesting note: throughout Camp Grayling here is artwork done by a state prisoner. Located in one building is a huge mural portait of Cheif Joeseph with that very qoute. Dang! Pappy you are so good with this!

I forget who produced it. Kevin Costner narrates. I used it for class when I taught about N.A. history. The series was on television at one point a while ago.

Oh wow, I could listen to your voice overs all day. You really could do voice overs for some of the documentaries that depict life in the wild west but not only that would be great for many of the forensic type documentaries too.
