Why is he struggling to climb the missile? If he could leap hundreds of feet through the air and easily dig his hands through NASA grade titanium, surely Clark was powerful enough at this point to hold on and climb without any real difficulty?

i like how Clark looks in this scene.. when he was on superspeed the only what we see is a blue-red smudge ... wearing blue shirt and jeans and a open up red jacket like his future outfit with the cape instead of the jacket xD

Can you fucking imagine?! Jumping on top of a missile, and trying to climb to the top as the 1st and 2nd stages cut loose? And on top of all that, clarks afraid of heights, too! Can you imagine how afriad he was, and yet he still went through with it? Hes one of the bravest batsards I've ever seen. Long live smallville.

Probably one of the last truly EXCELLENT episodes Smallville produced.

The death, resurrection, stopping the missile and seeing Lana's face when Clark reappeared after having "died" made this episode one of the greats.

his body can fly as shown in the first episode of season 4 and the he also hovers over his bed in the second episode of season 1, He cant fly because he is subconsiously blocking himself from doing so because deep down he still sees clark kent as human and not kryptonian.
