Made them, loved them but didn't use the yummy Kentucky Ale. Used good ole Keystone light. I'm sure they would have been even better with the Ale, but N.H. doesn't carry that good 'ole ale! Good Job! :o)
the egg whites are not only healthy but the fact of the matter is that if you use egg yokes they make the fries mushier because the egg yoke is fat soluble (fat sticks to it ) making it greasier so if you use only egg whites you get a crunchier batter which most people would prefer

mix: 1 cup flour
1 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp pepper
cayenne pepper and an egg
warm ky ale
mix and stir up and let sit in the fridge for an hour or so
then dip your onion rings
