  • Wilt blocked a sky hook once, but I think he's the only one.

  • oscar robertson throws to kareem... anyone else say HOLY SHIT when they heard that?

  • 7 foot 3 guy taking a sky hook--that's a virtually UNGUARDED shot....

  • Hank finkel yaa

  • SKY HOOK FTW!!!!!

  • Greatest Centers:

    1. Lew Alcindor

    2. Wilt Chamberlain

    3. Bill Russell

    4. Hakeem Olajuwon

    5. Shaq

  • @sumskater999 1.- PAU GASOL 2.- MARC GASOL

    3.- KAREEM ABDUL-JABAR

  • @gonzzo10 Dude, Kareem would ice Marc and his brother. Kareem had too many skills and confidence that they lacked. Look at how the Dallas center dominated him. Kareem wouldn't let that happened.

  • @gonzzo10 wow your seriously the dumbest man i have ever met

  • @gonzzo10 6. Dudley

  • best bucks player in the NBA

  • ...And they though Shaq was the best Center in NBA.

  • I read Kareem hooks Celtics in Finals and automatically think Lakers lol

  • Bill Russell!

  • flagrant foul by the guy at 0:13, because of his suit!

  • Him and Hakeem Olajuwon are the 2 best centers of all time.

  • LEW ALCINDOR SAVES THE DAY!!!!......well, actually, he's kareem now

  • did anyone else notice there ghetto ass hair cuts?

  • Kareem rocked that 'fro!

  • bill russel, the big O, and Kareem, this game had some legends!

  • @chappychapz Russell was retired at this point, but the game did feature Boston greats John Havlicek and Dave Cowens!

  • long live the SKY HOOK

  • we're done here...you lost all credibility saying Cowens was overrated !!...He was 6'-8" playing against 7 footers SEEEEEYA !

  • @taliesen1953

If you think that Cowens was good enough to single guard Kareem, you are vastly overrating him, and have lost all credibility. 6 rings >>> 2. Period. 2 finals MVPs >> zero. And Cowens played with as many future HOFs as Kareem did (Havlicek, Bird, McHale, Parish).

Absolutely no credibility even venturing to put Cowens on the same plane as Kareem at any level. None.

  • @drwood04 LET IT GO, MAN !!!!! I never said Cowens was as good as Alcindor......I said he was a tough matchup...he played inside and out which most big men didn't in those days......Cowens is in the Hall of Fame and on the same list of the 50 Greatest Players EVER (look it up)... so obviously he is in the same club, therefore a lot of people disagree with you. so ......let.............it...............go !!!!!!!!!!

  • Kareem Greatest ever.

  • I think Nba Elite 11 got the 3 point hook shot idea from this vid.

  • Cowens must have fouled out if Finkel was covering him......he NEVER would have got in position in that situation against Cowens....EVERRRRR !

  • @taliesen1953

Please...Kareem owned Cowens. The Celtics won this series, but only because in game seven they FINALLY double-teamed Kareem instead of letting Cowens get torched for 30+ ppg.

  • @drwood04 wrong again my friend !! Jabbar never beat the Celtics in a series til he had Magic with him in LA in 84-85...Cowens long retired. If you have the pleasure of meeting Kareem, ask him who was the toughest and most difficult player he ever went up against...

I know this because I watched every game Cowens played......it's the old Russell Chamberlain thing......Jabbar got his points but the Celtics won

  • @taliesen1953

You obviously haven't watched Kareem documentaries...in all of them he said that by far the toughest defender he ever faced was Nate Thurmond. Cowens wasn't even close. BTW, Cowens and the Celtics weren't even good enough to face Kareem in 1971, where they would have gotten smashed like every other team did en route to Milwaukee's NBA title that year.

Since you claim to have watched every Cowens game, you should know that the Celtics won game 7 by doubling Kareem...period.

  • @drwood04 Don't need documentaries...watched it live.....Kareem didn't win anything from 71 to 80..a bit underachieving I'd say ! Celtics (with Cowens won titles in 74 and 76)......70-71 they were retooling after Russell retired (with 11 out of the previous 13 titles !!!)....so if you want to talk history and tradition...bring it on !!!! (p.s. the 80 title in LA, Kareem was hurt and didn't even play the deciding game...Magic played center)

  • @taliesen1953

So did I...don't pretend you know more about this than me, b/c you obviously don't. Cowens was overrated...backstabbed the organization by retiring after the 1980 season, then only came back in 82 AFTER the Celtics won WITHOUT him in 81 -- or did you forget that detail?

BTW, Kareem was finals MVP in 85 long after Cowens was a relic, so if you want to compare the two, go ahead -- Kareem has 6 rings to Cowens 2, plus multiple more regular season and finals MVPs.

  • y dont they break the glass when they play?

  • His Sky Hook was blocked by Wilt Chamberlain twice in a single possession.

  • You know something, I dont think I could ever recall Kareem missing a Sky Hook shot! NEVER!

  • Greatest game ever?

  • Lebron's game winner against Detroit should be on the next list.

  • Do you understand how difficult that shot is. That's no 4ft away hook. That has distance, and from that angle, is just incredible.

  • Comment removed

  • Celtics won that series....end of story !

  • @taliesen1953 just like they do these da.... oh wait.

  • @nikosvault ..hey ,17 titles isn't bad...it's better than living in Cleveland

  • @taliesen1953 true.

  • hubie the stud ;)

  • man kareem looks legit with the beard and the fro

  • look at hubie brown young man

  • The sky hook was pure beauty lol.

  • It's not only the most unstoppable shot in history, but in his hands it looks much more ellegant than any other kind of hook.

  • that was a tough shot and he took it in a tough situtation. THE SKY HOOK WAS THE MOST UNSTOPPABLE SHOT EVER IN THE NBA.

  • Correction: Kareem's sky hook was the most unstoppable shot ever in the NBA. I've seen a few guys try to hit it these days but just don't have the touch...

  • i was referring to kareems sky hook and yes it was unstoppable.

  • lol... I know, Kareem basically invented that shot, he was the best at it. Not even Tim Duncan, Shaq, or Olajuwon could hit that shot like Kareem...

  • @azbaldy5 what about dirks fade away?

  • @242lakeshow the skyhook has een called an unblockable shot, i dont care who i fading away but they can be blocked

  • SKYHOOOK!!!!

  • I can barely do a skyhook, and he makes it look easy! that's why Kareem is a true legend.

  • Nope Bill Russell is the best center; however we have to give Kareem all the credit that he deserves!

  • what bill russell even reggie miller said kareem is the best center everyone says that yea bill russell's good and won a lot of rings but kareem's better

  • @SUPERSUNZZ and wilt

  • @SUPERSUNZZ Bill Rusell=Best Defensive Center

    Kareem=Best offensive center

  • @SUPERSUNZZ Kareem was better.

  • @SUPERSUNZZ wtf? Bill isn't even close to the best. Wilt,Hakeem,Kareem.. even Robinson & Shaq are much better imo.

bill was the greatest "winner" of all time.

  • Why at 0:16 did the NBA add Musburger's call from a 1979 Lakers Game. Pat Summerall was the play by play man with Rick Barry doing color.

  • how are milwaukee and boston both in the finals??? forgive me if im sounding dumb but was milwaukee a western conference team back then?

  • Yes, Milwaukee was in the West till 1981

  • beautiful skyhook, that was kinda far though

  • kareem!!!

  • Tru dat

  • that's his shooting style

  • yea thats the best center ever
