Just heard what you said in this video, about incorrectly using a 4gb memory card...

You say the Viewty only allows 2gb? I should be receiving my Viewty tomorrow, and i have my 4gb miroSDHC from my old phone. Will this work then? Or will it mess up the phone?

Please help me out, because this is the only thing bugging me about this phone.

You can use it but in all honesty it slows the handset down, stops the handset reading MP3 ringing & message tones plus the handset will only recognise the first 2GB.

This would be a software fault with LG's PC Sync rather than your mobile phone.

I would recommend doing these things - either move the desired files to your MicroSD memory card and rather than using the PC Sync we would use the Mass Storage mode.

Alternatively we recommend visiting LG's website and downloading the PC Sync software. The link is available on our website - Viewty page if you can't find :)

We love the Viewty is a great phone for multimedia however I do think if you wait a few more weeks the Renior could tickle your fancy as it has everything the Viewty has but more because it 8 MP, thinner, lens cover, and we can't believe but it has it Dolby Mobile Sound technology!

We are sure that the KE990 has the video editing suite on it but let's check your video recording resolution as it only works in a few of them and not all. Whilst in video recording mode ensure that it is NOT on the following:

640x480 (top option) or 640 x 480 (3rd option)

To change the resoultion tap Settings > Image Size (top left option)

Do the following: Using the multimedia switch on the slide of the phone, slide it across to Gallery and press the big silver camera key. Find the video you want to use, then as soon as it starts to play press pause, tap the centre of the screen, now tap the second to last icon on the right - editing icon - its above the tv looking icon, now choose image overlay and seelct your image. Save the video as a new file......

........Now re-open that new video tap the editing icon and now choose Audio Dubbing and select your music track and then save the video as the original file. All done :)

Thanks for commenting and sorry for the delay we have been away on hols :)

Being honest the handset only recognises 2GB of the 4GB but I can use the mass storage facliity and copy anything over up to its 4GB limit using my PC/Laptop.

The limit really only kicks in when trying to save pictures and stuff using the actual phone - we hope this makes sense :) The handset will run slower than normal using the 4GB card as well :)

Not really because if you have the protective screen cover you should be ok. Although LG's official answer would be to use only the stylus or human touch :)

Well, we think you should check out the KE990 which is almost the exact same phone - looks wise the same but it has no 3G for instance which allows you to connect to the internet faster.

The KE990 was designed specficially for the US, as the KU990 was designed for Europe. We would recommend buying unlocked so you can put any SIM card into it.

We would also check with your operator to ensure that this handset supports all your features, etc ...

.... as we know in the US certain handsets support different network features. If your operator gives you the all clear then search and buy because you won't be disappointed - this handset is really good :)

The 2GB Micro SD card is the memory card so you can store more pictures and video clips and of course more music. Price wise they are pretty cheap under $10 at least :)

Hey chrisfalvo,

All you need to do is ensure the memory card is formatted. Our advice is to remove everything off the memory card first and save it to your PC then do the following:

Menu > Settings > Phone Settings > Memory Manager > External Memory > Format (bottom left)

This will ensure your memory card has all the correct readable folders on it.

We found that the phone only recognises the first 2Gb of the memory card when trying to save things to it but if you were copying movies/games for instance to it from a pc/laptop you can use the full 4gb.

The phone will slow down if using the 4gb card especially if near 100% capacity. It's probably best to stick with the 2gb card :)

You can draw on screen in a wide range of colours, colour swap, crop, rotate, morph, add stamps on screen an add a wide range of different effects.
