I'd like to say, for the most part this storyline has been done RIGHT. WWE did things RIGHT by having Punk win, then have him subsequently "leave" the company. The one thing I think WWE did wrong, however is bring Punk back so quick. Should have been more of a tease and keep Punk off TV until the RAW before Summerslam, then have him show up. The tourney could have lasted up until that point, then have Punk show up and challenge the legitimacy of the belt. Best storyline in a long time
@SpectreNUT that would have no buildup to Cena and Punk. They would have no rivalry. Summersalm was only 3 weeks after MITB, so they needed to bring him back "too early". If they had more time, I'm sure they woulda held him out longer.
I would love to see Samoa Joe in the WWE, And they use him like whenever he first came to TNA he was unbeaten for a long time, they should use him in the WWE the same way, and set up a match between Joe vs the Undertaker at one of the Wrestle Manias, and let Joe end the unbeaten streak of the undertaker ( i would love to see STING do it), then set up a fued between CM PUNK vs SAMOA JOE for the WWE Title, THAT WOULD BE ONE HELL OF A CLASSIC. And let one of those matches be 60 minutes, CLASSIC.
Dude McMahon / Helmsely era is what got me watching WWE, HHH in my opinion was the best heel of the last decade by miles, he made me hate him SOO much and I completely agree nothing has got me as pumped up and into wrestling as this current CM Punk angel , the multiple layers of the storyline it is what has been missing from the main event scene for quite sometime!

The storyline is similar to the Summer of Punk storyline ran by ROH when Punk was first going to WWE... which was he was taking the ROH title with him. That's the similarity there. The difference is he let his contract run out with WWE (that's the storyline). His contract ran out (I believe he had a new contract probably 90 days before MITB PPV), and actually DID take the title with him. Liking how they are playing it out.

They are good and the actual matches I think are better than WWE.

The only problem is that Triple H can destroy CM Punk in an actual fight and not the fake wwe stuff. I mean CM punk is like 200 pounds while triple H is almost 300 pounds and would squash him like a bug.
For me this kind of hurt the storyline cause everyone knows now that Punk isn't fired which does make him the true champion and makes the tourney pointless which makes this whole storyline pointless but Punk is selling it very well and that helps it out a little. The fact Punk w/ belt in tow confronts his "former" employers who are simultaneously crowning a "new" Champion, just only sells the program more.

The only problem is that Triple H can destroy CM Punk in an actual fight and not the fake wwe stuff. I mean CM punk is like 200 pounds while triple H is almost 300 pounds and would squash him like a bug.

For me this kind of hurt the storyline cause everyone knows now that Punk isn't fired which does make him the true champion and makes the tourney pointless which makes this whole storyline pointless but Punk is selling it very well and that helps it out a little. I'm sure Stephanie does have is number to considering she's an executive in the company.

@aj3138 despite the fact the wwe has placed this on their website this has a stronger sense of belivablity than the average wwe story. it wasn't on raw, he didn't come out to music. I find it quite easy to pretend that this is legit.

@aj3138 That's true only if people truely believed WWE would let a soon-to-be-ex-employee leave the promotion (a scripted sport company) with physical possession of the top title belt. This storyline is working not because its total kayfabe or total shoot, its a worked shoot. Mixture of reality and kayfabe. The fact Punk w/ belt in tow confronts his "former" employers who are simultaneously crowning a "new" Champion, just only sells the program more.

About everything that WWE is a mixture of both reality and kayfabe that's kinda how it's always been with wrestling. Punk confronting his former company part makes sense but in fact regular an serious wrestling fans like ourselves all know that there's no former there so that's why the storyline is questionable.

i have criticised wwe in the past but i take my hat off to wwe they have silenced me wwe will always prove critics wrong in the end because wwe have been outtstanding recently not just with the punk thing but also with orton/christian, daniel bryan, mark henry and even the tag team division is starting to be revamped, all be it slightly but revamped nonetheless, even cena isnt as insufferable as he once was
