It doesn't matter how small the reel seat is, it will not fit the reel holder on our rods. There's no need to put another reel on because we sell combos with the reel of your choice. We do not sell just the rods to non customers. :)
Im looking for something to keep in my truck and for backpacking. EVERYONE is talking about you guys so it seems to be a no brainer. I definatly want a spinning reel and i usually fish for largemouth, bluegill, and sometimes trout. Which combo do you recommend?

Kudos mate. Keep at it. Mine runs fine just make sure to give them a wash after salt water use and little oil now and then wont hurt the reel! My friend had a rip off and they are just crap. get what you pay for mate. thanks! good fishing!

Thanks for watching & commenting. We have 2 bait casters available. 1 is the small mini bait caster & the 2nd is the extreme bait caster reel. While spooling either reel you must have a stationary place that the line spool is on. There should be a hole through the middle of the line spool you bought. Stick a small thin tube through the center & have it directly in front of you so that when you spool the line on to your bait caster reel it comes directly off. Look up how to spool a bait caster.

The Extreme Bait caster is the reel itself. It has annodized aluminum spool, aluminum side plates, finished wood handles, stainless steel bearings & an aluminum star drag system with an auto anti reverse clutch & tension dial. The only thing that's missing from this beautiful reel is the levelwind.

However, mono line has more stretch & so that there is less stress on the rods & more on the line & drag system of the reel. These rods are merely conduits & an extension of the angler's skills. You must have Ultra Light Tackle knowledge, keep a loose drag & use a net to capture the fish. Follow these tips for best results. These are GREAT for backpacking

However, the titanium guides on a Pen Rod have aluminum inserts pressed into them which makes the diameter of the guides even smaller so the float line won't pass through fluently. You have to use a method called shooting head which means putting either mono or backing on the fly reel, then after the guides some float line, then tippet, then a fly. Research shooting head. :)
Hi AppleSuperBook, If you're an experienced angler & know how to use your drag system, you will have no problems. There's no mystery that these are miniature telescopic rods. You can snap an Ugly Stik or any other name brand rod just as fast as a pen rod if you're a dunce! There's over 100 videos of happy customers on youtube catching a variety of nice fish using our products INCLUDING the current Pen Fishing Rod World Record 18lb carp on OUR rods. Trilene XL Smooth Casting Line. We don't even carry heavier line. If an angler wants 8lb test we won't even sell them a rod & reel because it raises a red flag to us that this angler is inexperienced with Ultra Light Tackle & would probably damage the rod. If myself & other 12 year old anglers can catch 10 20 lb fish using the drag system on 4 or 6 lb. test line then anyone can.

The fly reels can be spooled with the thinnest float line made, however, all Pen Fishing Rods have thin diameter guides which will not allow the float line to flow through freely. You have to use a method called 'shooting head' which means that you would have to put backing or mono on the reel, then float line to the front of the guides, then tippet, then a fly. :)

Just because another angler can catch 20 lb fish with a Pen Fishing Rod doesn't mean anyone who buys 1 is automatically a professional Pen Rodder. I am right handed, but like to reel with my left hand as well. Yet I swing a bat with my right and shoot lefty with a hockey stick. However, I am ambidextrous when it comes to shooting a weapon. :)

Again, it all depends on the skills, determination & the angler. You also need a loose drag & a whole lot of time to catch a big fish on one of these. :) The best reels are the spinners.
This thing can catch a 23 lb salmon. It all depends on the skill of the angler.. If you're an amateur with 0 skills, the rod can only catch a guppy. If you're a pro, the rod can catch a 30 lb fish. Just look up Big Carp with Penfishingrods,com.. So far the record ON FILM is 18 lbs.

Trilene XL Smooth Casting Line. We don't even carry heavier line. If an angler wants 8lb test we won't even sell them a rod & reel because it raises a red flag to us that this angler is inexperienced with Ultra Light Tackle & would probably damage the rod. If myself & other 12 year old anglers can catch 10 20 lb fish using the drag system on 4 or 6 lb. test line then anyone can.

The fly reels can be spooled with the thinnest float line made, however, all Pen Fishing Rods have thin diameter guides which will not allow the float line to flow through freely. You have to use a method called 'shooting head' which means that you would have to put backing or mono on the reel, then float line to the front of the guides, then tippet, then a fly. :)

Hi surferioz , thanks for watching & commenting. The term spooled means with line. We generally use 2 - 4 or 6 lb test line on our reels. If you're a good angler and you know how to use a drag system, you can catch a 20 lb fish on 4 or 6 lb line.

Hi surferioz , thanks again for commenting. What you use it for is totally up to you. It all depends on YOUR skills as a fisherman. The World Record so far on 1 of our rods is 18 lbs. Just look up BIG Carp with Penfishingrods,com & replace the comma before com with a dot. Results may vary. Just because another angler can catch 20 lb fish with a Pen Fishing Rod doesn't mean anyone who buys 1 is automatically a professional Pen Rodder. Just like anything else in life, you need to practice! :)

I am right handed, but like to reel with my left hand as well. Yet I swing a bat with my right and shoot lefty with a hockey stick. However, I am ambidextrous when it comes to shooting a weapon. :)

Just check out Big Carp with Penfishingrods,com on our web site. I wouldn't say that our rods can handle any size fish because some kids can't even catch a guppy. Again, it all depends on the skills, determination & the angler. You also need a loose drag & a whole lot of time to catch a big fish on one of these. :) The best reels are the spinners.

This thing can catch a 23 lb salmon. It all depends on the skill of the angler.. If you're an amateur with 0 skills, the rod can only catch a guppy. If you're a pro, the rod can catch a 30 lb fish. Just look up Big Carp with Penfishingrods,com.. So far the record ON FILM is 18 lbs.
