I believe their are a lot of Chinese fake 7750's being made and put in to Swiss watches from some of the smaller not so well know watchmakers out there. You really have to know what your buying. I also wanted to ask you what your opinion is on some of the latest grand seiko automatic movements that are being made...my wife bought me a new grand seiko automatic watch for Christmas and I have to say that this movement keeps spot on time. Of course the grand seiko collection are very pricey. I enj

@MrFitzgerald58 I think its possible as there are many Chinese movements now that are cheap enough that they can still claim Swiss Made. Now if its a respectable watchmaker you're not going to see that happen.

What's your opinion on price points for the Valjoux 7750 movements? I've seen watches priced around $500 to $1500+ Since I like chronograph movements, I'd just like to know what I should look for when purchasing a $500 watch with a Valjoux 7750 vs. a $1500 with a Valjoux 7750.

@mogando25 Well, not all Valjoux 7750's are the same. Some are straight out of the box entry level finish and will not keep good time. Some will be regulated and have some minor finishing done, some are purchased in kit form and put together with some aftermarket pieces. Some have the pieces finished to a higher quality afterwards, and some are ordered with a high level of finish. Some are modified quite heavily like the IWC variety. There are even $5000+ 7750's.
