  • McCotter voted for SCHIP, voted to raise the minimum wage, voted for Obama;s housing scams....the list goes on and on. A vote for McCotter is a vote for socialism.

  • @AngelaT0763 Nice to see that you created a YT account 2 days ago just to criticize Mr McCotter. I suspect you are a RonBot. Way to be constructive, Captain Obvious.

  • This prick votes Democratic half the time. He should run as a Democrat.

  • McCotter 2012 - time for Washington to smarten up.

  • Superb commentary on why GM came to Congress for money.

CAFE standards have been strangling automakers and forcing people in to buying small crappy cars that any sane person wouldnt want to be in.

  • Cavuto is a grade A brainless talking head idiot.

  • i cant watch this video

    this video was good j9

  • Congressman McCotter has restored my hope in American politics. Stay the course congressman!

  • Right on congressman, you nailed it. Decades of meddling by the Democrats telling auto makers to make little cars that people do not want. carbon emissions, cafe standards, states mandates, mileage standards.....and spoiled union members retiring at 55.

Democrats put them there, just like democrats sank fannie mae and freddie mac, and the banks.

  • This is Ralph Nader's fault? For pointing out that car manufacturers weren't willing to invest in making the cars they sold to THE PUBLIC safer? Why every time someone passes a law to protect the public interest, they're demonized by the "leave the free market alone" coalition? Do you remember why the FDA even exists today? Because of UNREGULATED private corporate behavior that was harming the public with their mercury laced drugs and bogus "miracle cures" for cancer and diabetes.

  • Ralph Nader puts unwarranted fear in people. At the end of the day what saves your life is your seat belt and a BIG car, not a sardine can. We're all consumer protected to death. Democrats refuse to accept that people can take care of themselves. We do not need them, all they do is cause problems.

  • When you avail yourself of the American market you have certain obligations to the people you sell products too. A "sardine can", as you so eloquently put it, can be made very very safe. Saabs and Volkswagens aren't exactly Lincoln Town Cars, yet they get very high safety ratings. It's time to stop living in the 70's... corporate responsibility and energy conservation/independence from Saudi oil aren't exactly radical leftist ideas.

  • Where in the constitution does it say that free marketeers are obligated to make you feel good? Decide before you buy. If you think Saab and VW produce outstanding products, then great, that's where YOU will spend your money. If millions more agree with you, then Saab and VW will out do GM & Ford, and they will have to COMPETE, or go out of business.

The point is, gov't need not interfere. They do because of whiny people who need gov't to take care of them.

  • Where in the Constitution does it say you're not supposed to commit insider trading, fraud, or manufacture deficient and lethal pharmaceuticals? Let's just carry around the Constitution and think of it as the alpha and the omega of our lives, when in reality it's an outline of our democracy. How about we reinstate slavery since the Constitution never said anything against it? Can we all please grow up and stop being so dogmatic? The people, through their ELECTED govt, have a right to "interfere"

  • Spin it like a top Thad.

  • Congressman McCotter, you did a remarkable job in articulating why the auto industry needs help. I am proud to have Congressman McCotter as my representative ... God bless you sir!
