@stobon1 Seems like an internal struggle with the direction in which society is headed. Specifically, he wonders if he should fight the momentum of society, or get on board and fuel the fire. Or maybe, stand idly by and do nothing. His indecision has been problematic and he yearns to pull away - to be a change agent. But its hard to stand on an island away from everyone and he feels he can't win. "Standing right in the way" would end it all, no more feeling. No idea about the rain.

Really? I thought this solo album of his is pretty impressive. And you don't like A Crow Left of the Murder? I think that album is terribly overlooked. But S.C.I.E.N.C.E., Make Yourself, and Morning View are all gems. Even Light Grenades was good. "If Not Now, When?" however, was mediocre and sadly a disappointment.

I hated Earth to Bella initially but learned to love and appreciate it.

I don't know what they were thinking when they made that album, it's as if they decided to alienate their whole fan base. Their were a few solid tracks like "Thieves", "Isadore", "The Original", "Defiance", but pale in comparison to their predecessors. I love the solo album however.
