Guys cmon, seriously, veyron is a joke made for top end only. Veyron a track car? That's some funny stuff. The GT2, GTR, ZR1, even the Z06 would smash it on the circuit.

These 2 times are bested only by the Dodge Viper ACR (2010), Radical SR8, Gumpert Apollo Sport, Lexus LFA Nürburgring Package, Donkervoort D8 RS, and Porsche 911 GT2 RS. The Corvette "muscle" car is better in the corners than Nissan GTR, Maserati, Pagani Zonda, Ferrari Enzo, Ferrari 458, Koenigsegg CCX, etc. Where is Veyron? Nowheeeeeere..

Case in point (your argument) is that they don't come close to the Veyron. Well, the Veyron barely beats a 7:40 on the Ring where even the Lower model Z06 is getting a 7:22. Now thats a $50,000 car beating a $2.4million car by 18 seconds per lap. So yeah, case in point, Veyron is only important to ignorant people.

@philonetic You do have a point there, but Veyron is important milestone, not because it's so very quick, but mecause it's very very quick but it's also usable and comfortable. Z06 might be faster on a track (for few reasons), but it's not a car you could use every day. Veyron is that kind of car. That is if you're loaded with money. I mean if you'd be looking purely at lap speeds, then the best car in the Nurburgring, that it's still kind of usable is Porsche 911 GT2 RS. Friend of mine uses it.

Fastest Porsche is a 7:24 by the 911 GT2 RS. The Dodge Viper ACR only holds a 7:22.1....

Saying the Veyron is a milestone is like saying the Concorde is a milestone in Aviation. The Veyron is a joke, made for ignorant people to gawk at it's ridiculous price tag. It is in no way a performance milestone considering the Aero I could beat it's top speed and already beats it in lateral g.

I don't blame you, you most likely are young, not too experienced and fed by European misinformation. The truth is: Europeans are *yet* to develop a car that can challenge the mid range American car in the corners or on the straights without costing 3x the price. I also don't like how Brits claim "European", the best cars are German, American, Italian, Japanese and Dutch, the rest of you lot have nothing to do with it.

The truth is: Americans are still to develop a car that can challenge European supercars in the corners. Muscle cars are brilliant for drag racing, fantastic fun to drive and so much fun to burn the rubber while drifting, bun not for cornering. Nissan GTR is currently one of the best cornering cars in the world

Check GT GT2 GT3 and Official Lap Times for Nurburgring, Euro production class comes nowhere close, sorry you don't like the facts but they are facts. Poor europeans =D

On the contrary, many american cars are brilliant.I personally had a mustang for few years and only sold it because of the prices of petrol here in Europe. Everything aside, I still stand by what I said. Veyron is the Concorde of motor industry as it broke into unknown grounds before anybody else did. Also I believe that Veyron and Z06 or Viper ACR are too different breeds of car.

Corvette has had a 254.76mph car since 1988, the Corvette Callaway Sledgehammer TT, so I don't agree with the Veyron 16.4 ever holding the record at 253mph. The first time the Callaways speed record was broken was by the SSC Aero I when it hit a top speed of 257.11 mph and averaged 255.83 mph — 3.11 mph faster than the unofficial record set by the Bugatti Veyron and 1.07 mph faster than the Callaway.

Also the Veyron goes 0-200mph in 22.2seconds. The Ultima GTR goes 0-211mph in under 20seconds and also holds the world record for 0-100-0, powered byyyy.... a Chevrolet small block V8.

Maybe you're forgetting that the Veyron is the chunkiest heaviest over built and under developed car out there. 16cyl, 4 turbos, 10 radiators, etc etc, and for what? To barely beat out an american v8 twin turbo (the Aero I) in top end, while totally ignoring everything else a car is about, except dumping 1 million$+ into the leather. It's a joke on rich people plain and simple. It will never be a real contender on track, ever.

@philonetic Overdeveloped? I don't think so. The point of this car is sheer speed. When you max out Aero 1, it becomes aerodynamically unstable. Not so with the Veyron. Truth it may be that it's not a real track car, but in the real world scenario, it's as good as it gets with all the luxuries that 1M $ car should have.

Yeah put a 1200 bhp car against a 700 bhp car!! Man, give your brain a chance. Why dont you put the Zonda R against the supersport round a track??? the zonda would be about 10 s faster per lap. In about 10 laps, the zonda would have lapped the veyron.
