What kind of speakers are them black ones and could tell what to look for in a good pair of HIFI speakers that would sound good with my AKAI AA-R32 receiver
Yes, they are one of the higher end floor speakers that Sony made. They won't match bigger speakers for sheer power or bass, but they are very efficient for their size, and work well with my tube amp.
I just looked up my old receiver. I also got the SX-434. It still sounds great but I'd like to fancy it up a little (paint the wood, change the lights). I was wondering if the blue light-filter behind the tuner display can be removed or replaced for another color. Or is it the interface itself that is blue?

Thank you for replying. I noticed you have a ESR tester on your bench. Do you use it often when you repair electronic equipment? That is one piece of test equipment I don't have. One more question, for the life of me I can't think of the name of the song you are playing and who did it. Thanks!
Yes, I have seen the video of the completed receiver, nice job! Seller said it works great, all bulbs are good. The cabinet is in nice shape too. I am not sure if I should recap it.
I think my next purchase will be a ESR tester, either that or I am thinking about building one from a schematic I have.
I am into tube radios and tube audio (vintage audio & speakers) I only have my Dynaco ST-70 shown on my site, I have to update it when I have a chance.

@loves2rock247 They are Sony SS-F7000. I can't comment on what would sound good with your receiver, since I haven't seen one of those yet.

The dial face itself is blue. The lamps are clear, fuse style 8 volt bulbs.

The ESR meter is one of my most used tools. I want to get a second one.
The song is "Happy Organ" by the Ventures if I recall.
Did you see the video of the completed receiver? I didn't have the top on it yet, but the everything else was done.
