Nowadays, B95's "soft rock" slogan is a misnomer too... why not dump that slogan? I kinda felt that the Edge would be gone anyway... but Morrell and Benfer need to look north for a certain "Froggy 107" to simulcast on 104.9, if you ask me. What about Jamz? Jim Morrell is also the owner of Pamal Broadcasting, remember... they were the ones that got rid of Magic 100.9 (well, technically it moved to AM, but still...), 104.9 The Edge and 104.9 Love FM (in 2005). Though Cat Country 104.9 has a cult following these days, I just see it eventually fading out... like everything else tried on 104.9 (including their two modern rock formats, smooth jazz, urban AC...)

i'm surprised by these workers complaining. i was looking to go to work for this hotel because they pay more money, offer better benefits, and have more vacation than the union hotel i'm at now. plus i wouldn't have to pay almost $10 per week in dues. maybe I could switch places with one of these people? i feel my hotels been getting worse since the union came in, and i don't know what they actually do.

I was young when i first joined this union. they made big promises then my dues went up, and went up again, and then they were basically taking away 2 hours a week of my pay in dues. next i found out that the union leaders were making over $300k and having fancy meals and nice cars! that was 2 hours per week of my back breaking labor and they were living it up. then the union went bankrupt and my money was going into a black hole. i left to go to a different union that i felt was honest.

I'm a big democrat & support most unions, however I'm really confused why Council President Shawn Morris is up there backing Craig Prusky who is currently under indictment for allegedly stealing from the Port of Albany. And now she wants us to donate money to him? How can anyone support her with that judgement? Has anyone asked her why she supports someone under indictment for stealing taxpayer dollars? at my hotel I figure out that one of the organizers had an in with the union and was getting xtra money to be a union boss if a union got formed. it sucked - they took my money and gave it to someone else for no reason. i worked hard for that money and i thought i shoulda been able to keep it all. here there's a guy that suposedly stole money from port of albany (my tax money) and then finked on his bosses - is he the one that's going to get the extra money? why?

That's exactly what happened at my hotel. They came in making all these big promises, then once they were taking $10 per week of MY money - they disappeared. They said that the rate that we were getting paid was already the same as that of other area hotels - so i just ended up losing money. Why didn't they tell us that in the start? I went somewhere else so I could keep all my money.

It's things like this that give unions a bad name. Local 471 has been under trusteeship since late 2007. That means they're effectively bankrupt. Why would people give their hard earned money to a bankrupt union? Does anyone ask what a bankrupt union can do? Plus their poster boy is Craig Prusky, currently under indictment for allegedly stealing taypayer dollars from the port of albany. I know this girl too. I remember her being in the newspaper w/ her 2nd DWI not too long ago. My friend is in law enforcement, and I remember him saying she had a driving record a mile long. It's a shame people don't learn on their first DWI, but now this girl has the nerve to cry wolf and claim to be some union organizer? PLEASE HONEY.
