It read as a quarter which really confused me. After cleaning it up I realized it was silver with gold around it, thats why it showed up as a quarter.

If you live in Maryland, I can tell you where another gold ring is. I threw my wedding band in the side of a yard as I drove by. I felt like I was over my first marriage and decided to chuck it one day. Had a pattern similar to the one you found. Its in Eldersburg Md. for anyone else nearby........

Nice find, gotta love those ACE 250's, I also use a SunRay probe on mine. In two years time, I have found nearly 8,000 clad coins and a bunch of silver, including 1/2 dimes and a couple of flying eagle pennies.

I was detecting close to my house between the sidewalk and the front lawn. I had it on coin setting and it actually showed up as a quarter, the reason, I found out later that day, was that it is gold and silver.

I just found an 18kt gold ring yesterday, and get this, that was only my second time out detecting. The readout said it was a penny!!!!! The ground is frozen here so I was just surface hunting around a sleding hill!!!

Gold it Great!!!! Mine weighs .345oz, its a big mans weddingband, the gold content is worth $252, not bad my ace 250 paid for it self the 2nd time out!!!! Great video, hopefully we both find more gold soon!!!!!!
