lol come train in a few high quality gyms and say that, Ireland has one of the highest ranked amateur programmes IN THE WORLD. fucking john duddy beat andre ward in the amateurs, brian magee schooled lacy, eamonn magee struck fear into the hearts of many fighters, Andy Lee was an amazing amateur, Wayne Mccullough madeMorales awe-struck at his toughnessand that's just a few decent modern Irish fighters

@ThePowerV3 Amateur is one thing and PRO is another. John Duddy for example shouldn't been mentioned in the same sentence next to Ward, is that simple. All those guys you mentioned could have been excellent amateurs but NONE made it BIG as a PROFESSIONAL.

@Obamaownswhitesnow Oisin Fagan would have outpointed Chavez Jr if he hadnt been floored, outworked Spadafora, and only lost to Khan so quickly because he literally snapped his ankle on the first knockdown, and this was a guy on a football scholarship from Ireland who had 3 amateur fights and decided to turn pro for some cash.

macklin and lee obviosuly don't think ireland is the best place for them and perez does think ireland is the best place for him. he did actually spend time in newcastle, england before deciding that though.
