  • ya on this bike i would start with a compression check. new spark plug and keep running it at 32;1 with semi synthetic oil. nothing wrong buddy its a honda

  • Holy shit dude dont free rev it like that WTF, YOU SHOULDNT BE ON A BIKE PERIOD!!!!!!

  • One abused bike!

  • very bad moto :-)

  • Yeah its not the top end, I have a 96CR250 and if I forget to turn the choke off it runs like that. I think its the carb.

  • wow i could do that but its a waist of time

  • @hockeyman1177 Landon, I could write a good comeback but thats a WASTE of time

    learn how to spell

  • @bcdrummer dude that thing dont sound good hahaha

  • This what happens when so tunes a carb and has no fucking clue what they are doing.Turn your air screw all the way in then 1 1/4 out.put your needle valve clip on the middle position. If they dont work then drop the main jet down 1 and the pilot down 1.If you still have hard compression then the top end is still good.if you can push down the kick start with out muscle then its done.

  • guys the more oil, the more the piston/ rings get greased which is healthy for the bike, and also the more compression which also means more horsepower. who really cares how much a dirtbike smokes lol. and ye its the jetting.

  • It's also probably not a good idea trying to rev the nuts off it from cold either..

  • oh and the top end isn't the problem, it would give different symptoms. that is running too rich, perhaps your choke is siezed on.. that or you jetting is running it too rich. try checking the air filter.. that can also have an effect if its dirty.

  • anyone here that knock on 3.00 mins. and the bike is ok, its your fuckin jetting

  • and #2 NEVER rev your bike like that dude, and #3 snappin the throttle before starting it does NOTHING, this only works on 4 strokes, especially the newer 4 strokes. aha =) But judging by the way you treat that poor bike, it most likely needs a top end now or maybe a whole bottom and top end. dont pin it like that, not good. take it from a 31yo that has been in the game before you we're born. Keep the 2 strokes alive! fuck 4 jokes!

  • thats not your top end thats your jetting that is WAY to rich

  • What the hell are you running that at?

  • @atty0438 You mean oil or jets? the oil is running at 40:1 now but idk what it was then. i think it was at 32:1 when i made this video. the jets are stock.

  • fuck your reving the hell out off it

  • fuck your reving the hell out off it

  • Dont leave the choke on so long cause the plug will foul and u definatly have to rich of a mixture

  • hey guys i have a quick question. i have a 2001 cr 125 and when ever i take off it just boggs down then i give it a couple revs then it catches up to speed then it goes. can anybody please help me on this??

  • @motocrosschamp02 it's your jetting bud. try backing out your air screw 1/8th a turn at a time to see if that helps first, mix your fuel at 32:1 "always" and if the air screw adjustments wont work, try bringing your needle clip position down a notch, if none of that still works try going a size down on your pilot jet. A properly jetting bike barely smokes if any smoke at all.

  • whats with the forks? theyre not the original '99 upside down forks

  • @buzzender How so?

  • @bcdrummer i mean they're not the original upside down forks honda used on the '99 cr 250..

  • @bcdrummer yeah they are not the original forks

  • I replace my top end yearly, my bike still runs like a bat out of hell and it is a 98'

Don't get a newer bike, the 98-99 CR250R was one of the best 2t ever made.

  • @mmz77 I gotta agree. i love this bike!

  • @mmz77 ive got one to, but its a rough ride compared to my YZ, haha did you know jeremy magrath quit his factory honda ride because they were making him ride this bike?

  • @mmz77 definatley i got a 98 and a 99

  • u may have too heavy of a fuel\oil mixture and it may need a new plug

  • u definitely need a new top end.

  • @metalhead481 lol yeah i been sayin that. this bikes never had one done!

  • @bcdrummer

dude.. it's too much oil in the premix..

Too much oil=making the piston slightly harder to move up and down since the lubricate is blocking her way SLIGHTLY!!!

I bet that's the reason your bike didn't keep the high RPMs..

    he's smoking like a 3 stroke ;]

  • @harelrule ya you are smart. It's his jetting.

  • i have an identical lookin bike minus the grab bar and either when mine gets water in it or when a ring it about to give out and bust it runs like that

  • i wonder why you need a new top end lol has nouthing to do with the way you warm it up

  • @Deathtoll008 Lol yeah i know XP

I actually started following that shortly after i posted this.

  • @bcdrummer ah i see i was like damn what a tard lol:P

  • Nice,I never saw this...What is the bar on the fender?

  • @Motorakid Animal Handle, look it up. comes in handy maneuvering the bike around the garage or when you eat it on a hill. theyre promoted at our local park so a lot of people in my area have them. i love em!

  • @bcdrummer They're good for foot wheelies too!

  • Hey is this a good deal 99 CR250 $1500, original owner with original sproket and chain only rebuilt once?

  • @baii3r sounds pretty good to me as long as its in good shape. i bought mine for $1000 but it had a bald tire, worn top end and really bad chain and sprockets.

  • u dad is a mechanic right? u cant do this to this bike !!!

  • @gala020 My dad is not a mechanic. he builds cabinets but cant stand working on bikes.

  • try turning the air flow screw on the side of the carborator. turn it clear in and turn it 2 and a half turns out that should fix it.

  • think its fixed by now the vid 7 months old lol

  • running to rich that bike is m8

  • nice bike iv got a 97

ur supposed to mix it 32:1. iv got a climbers manual thats what it says but everyones diff

  • nice nice bike.

  • sound awesome

  • hey kid, you know why your cross smokes so much out of the tailpipe? and when you accelerate and you will hear that he does not want to turn up for you have too much oil. you mix too much oil in the petrol that is why:) do the next time a little less oil:) promise it will help

  • i used to run 32:1 but i have since been mixing it at around 44:1.

  • @bcdrummer 44:1 is wicked lean. 40:1 is best.

  • @bcdrummer

Take a look at my yz video, the bike has zero compression and wont start

  • tu no eres muilisto xaval asis e jode el motor dejala calentar

  • english dude. english.

  • you have a jetting problem

  • Yeah ive been trying to figure out what would be best but ive gotten so much different suggestions that i dont know what to change it to. i did adjust the needle clip position which helped a bit.

  • rev the fuck out of it much, i have a 98 cr and havent had to change the plug once sice i rebuilt it which was a year ago

  • at 1:41 its the SWEETEST sound to the human ear hahah

  • more like 1:49-1:50

  • run less oil. i bet you foul plugs all the time.

  • @sabcrewD3 actually, during the whole year and a half of owing this bike, ive fouled maybe about 3 plugs.

  • whats that black bar for on the fender haha?

  • its called an animal handle. its really useful for draggin the bike around or when your stuck.

  • Hey its the powervalve, I had the same problem replace the piston clean and polish your powervalve.

  • yeah do what fmxunleashed said, also your power valve tension could be too tight preventing the bike from reving any higher. and what camera are you using?

  • im using a Sony DSC-P73. why?

  • you shouldnt rev it that hard when you only just started it mate, can do some serious damage trust me its no good doing it as it just puts to much on the piston until its warmed up nice bike , looks really clean, what year is it ? 97-98 ?

  • lol its a 99

  • sounds alrite just cold

do a compression test and find out

  • lol i just ordered a jd jet kit and v force reeds for my 07 rm125, next on the list is fmf sst and turbinecore2

make a vid when you get the new top end in

  • yea i wanted the sst system but i dont have the extra money right now.

  • try dropping it to around 185 or 183. im not sure how easy it is on that bike but mine all i need to do is turn the carb in the boots and take out the bottom plug and the main is right there in the bottom.if 183 doesnt get rid of it the silencer may be plugged. it doesnt sound too far off, and you would rather be rich than lean, lean causes damage and short motor life rich just fouls up plugs

  • thats funny you mention that because the whole reason i put the stock on is because my old Turbine Core 2 was clogged. this is actually better than it was before, but i got a new one now. and yeas, it is that easy to change the jets on my bike. thanks for the info, fmf says to have it around 178 but idk about that.

  • lol almost sounds like it has a rev limiter

but deff do a top end job ASAP

  • oh yeah dude. just got a new turbine core 2 and once i get a new top end, a fatty, reeds and re-jet, it will fucking SCREAM

  • top end is probably fine the main jet is about 1 -3 sizes to big

  • well its a 190 main. i ride carnegie usually. so whats your opinion?

  • planetarysuicide1 is right, try a 186 main, and move the clip up 1 position. That should definetly help.

  • yeah i adjusted the needle clip while i was ridin in the forest and it helped. havent done the jets yet.

  • i have a 182 main, 42 pilot, and clip is 2nd from the top. it runs great.
