Been using the underarmor performance mouth guard for about 2 months now and have definitely seen a difference. Didn't realize there was a competing product out there, but good to see I made the right choice.
I love what a PPM dentist states when they don't have literature to back up a claim..."You don't know what you don't know". I agree. You don't know so quit arguing. I heard all of these cliche's at this year's IACA.
Please give me one literature source to support the PPM appliance...please! Just one!

patents are meaningless and pending. Migraines, imbalance & injury risk are meaningful. Results on cortisol and lactate apply to any method that alters muscle activity, changes airway opening. TENS has been shown to relax muscles and increase power output in countless studies. Makkar guards are based upon 50 yrs of research. read it. your study says half showed decreased cortisol, so half didn't. so what. Makkar incorporates muscle relaxation in the position, Bite Tech does not. I'm done

This is a ridiculous post. There is not one shred of evidence to prove optimize performance with PPM. The bite has nothing to do with the process. It is the HPA axis. Please review the peer reviewed research. Oh, that's right...only Bite Tech has that!
I do want a science based, high tech appraoch that is customized that can offer results...that is why I have chosen the Under Armour Products.

If you reviewed 50+ years of research in neuromuscular dentistry, and you will see the profound impact of jaw position on the HPA axis. if the bite has nothing to do with it, hows does the BT guard create its supposed results? you chose BT because you know nothing about NM dentistry, and did not have to invest yourself in learning anything new or in expensive equipment. Again, modest cost, modest results, at best. By the way, why are BT clients developing migraines and balance issues?
What I find so funny, is that out of the 160,000 dentists in the US, only about 400 have chosen to be 'Neuromuscular Dentists', and that is WITH 50+ years of 'research'. A whopping .0025%. Do you even read what you write? You feel better because you've bought expensive equipment? So sad thats all it takes to justify something to some.

Never argue with the ignorant you don't know what you don't know. As we'll never influence each other, let's end the squabble. We all help our clients. There are thousands of NM dentists. the market is large enough for all. interesting you attack instead of open your mind. you have no answer to how your guard supposedly works or affects HPA axis, if you even know - since "the bite has nothing to do with the process." You don;t deny the balance and migraine issues. Hope no one gets hurt.

A biased and error-filled video! After relaxation, PPM docs capture a very specific and unique position to optimize performance. UA uses your same bad bite and applies the same correction for all. it is a mass-market guard that at best offers modest results at a modest price for a modest time investment. If you want a science-based, high-tech approach that is fully customized, and can predictably offer dramatic and maximal results, the extra time and cost of the Makkar PPM are justified.
