  • Not fair :) Of course Amiga wins. It beats the st on all fronts. I want both though.

  • the commodore c64 sounds better than the atari st, im so glad i made the choice of the amiga in 1989, i would of been well pissed off with incomplete games, The sound was half the game experience

  • Amiga mods!!!!!! THAT ATARI haves same chip than Spectrum or Sega Master System... Music.. that's one point why I love Amiga

  • Atari wins. Atari sound chip. Win. :)

  • @teknoism303 :)

  • Amiga never was a PC! Amiga was an Expierience!!

  • Amiga is shit lol. Any crappy midi music. Atari ST music >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> amiga faggots stay jelly after all this time. Atari ST music is powerful!

  • Amiga Win - FATALITY !!!!!

  • Amiga Steam rolls this one ;) Did the Atari stand a chance ? I think the Spectrum version would put up more of a fight ;)

  • at 2:03 you make popcorn?

    hihihihihi

    AMIGA DOMINATION!!!!

  • @passer875 XD

  • Atari ST sounds like a gameboy. Amiga sounds like uhm Amiga, fuckin awesome

  • no contest

  • Atari ST remember me an AY spectrum chiptune. Amiga WINS

  • I laugh so much every time I hear gaming music on the ST. It just sounds so embarrasing. I am glad I never owned an ST and at the time I had no intentions when everything was perfect on the Amiga already. So many games on the Amiga had awesome music, many of them I just used to just either pause or let an intro play through, it sounded that good. I have 85 Xbox 360 games and have never just sit and listen to any of the gaming music. Amiga you are the king.

  • Amiga sound so much better.

I would have sold my STe for an Amiga, if I knew how good Amiga sounded.

  • Why you didn't put the intro? It was really nice... Amiga Vs Atari ST? Why? I owned both machines and both have nice games, sound...but both have "Pros" and "Cons"...so I think this is useless...Good machines (BOTH of them) with good games.

  • For playing games - Amiga is better. For serious work - Atari is better.

I had both. I was passionate about both of them. Amiga had way nicer graphics and sound, atari had far, far better OS and usable software.

If we count the computers that are still being used to this day, there will be FAR more Ataris than Amigas. And that speaks volumes.

  • @epten Eh, AmigaOS was far superiour to TOS. Multitasking, plug and play and shell command. It could handle more colours and higher resolutions too. The programs where also far better. Deluxe Paint, Pro Tracker and Video Toaster where brilliant Amiga software. Atari had one thing in advance: MIDI and Cubase. That was optional to the Amiga though.

  • Amiga :D

  • I actually bought an ST because it was cheaper than the Amiga, realised the sound was the same as a ZX Spectrum and promptly sold it and forked out the extra for an Amiga! Very happy I did!

  • I think they were going for a Top Gun type soundtrack in the first game:)

  • Amiga is best computer ever !!

  • da far rabbrividire il "suono" dell'atari..il SID del c64 faceva molto meglio. l'unico motivo per cui hanno comprato l'ST era per le porte MIDI. per il resto, è buono come fermacarte...

  • Interesting how the Amiga is more Atari then the Atari ST. When Jack bought the company they just switched basically, Atari got the commodore designed computer and Commodore got the Atari Designed computer.

  • @ATARI800XLfan

lol, nope. Atari put $500k into Amiga. Then, they wanted their money back as they were skint so the mighty Commodore gave them the $500k back and set Amiga up to develop the chips.

Tramiel then grabbed a load of off the shelf components, threw them into the box & the ST was born.

    Learn the history, ST troll.

  • @MrFlibble2011 wrong. Commodore bought out Amiga behind Atari's back.

  • @ATARI800XLfan

lol, yeah of course they did. Atari FAIL

  • Chip tunes will always sound better. Go Atari ST

  • @ATARI800XLfan

lol, SID maybe. Not the Spectrum Chip the ST used.

  • @ATARI800XLfan not on an ST, it was BAD

  • This comparison doesn't make sense. Atari ST and Amiga are different leagues. It's like comparing boxers of heavy and light weight. This does not compute.

  • IIGS sound beats both

  • @BrianPicchi - Noperz, the IIGs had a great sound chip, but nothing beats DMA sample replaying - no limitations set by set instruments, merely cpu independant sampled instruments sampled from anything you want.

Nothing is as versatile as DMA sound. Pity no much took advanatage of it on the STe. :(

  • Comment removed

  • @BrianPicchi No.

  • Amiga

  • @wadeuss I own both originals. Emulators do the trick to a degree but there's nothing like owning the actual box from back in the day. I guess we are all guilty of looking at things with rose tinted nostalgic glasses but i'm glad i'm the age I am.......i'd take growing up with the 8 and 16 bit era any day over the current-gen systems - as great as they are.

  • @wadeuss Well 'misses' it out or left it out? It's just an alternative version. I don't know, maybe the programmers were ST fans and wanted to give the system a confidence boost. I've got both versions so it's no skin off my nose :)

  • amiga

  • @wadeuss Ah come on mate, the intro music absolutely canes the Amiga version - it's the Bomb the Bass mix with full on samples - if you don't know it, You Tube it and you'll see what I mean.......there is no marginality in it. In-game the Amiga comes out on top as was usually the case though - i'll give you that.

  • I like both actually lol.......but the Amiga one sounds better of course. However, Xenon II on the ST is amazing and the Amiga version is poor. Swings and roundabouts as the saying goes :)

  • @bluetonic78 seems to be a good suggestion. ;) I`ll check it out.

  • PLEASE DONT COMPARE AN ATARI WITH AN AMIGA!!! OMG!!! ATARI SUCKS!!

  • @tommyjones1978 sorry to make your Ears bleed XD

  • @SarahKreuz78 8 Bit Bleeping FTW

  • @tommyjones1978 Just like your crap use of the caps lock key sucks. Now go back to school and learn some English little boy, before I get the Atari Falcon out and spoil your warped love fantasy with the Amiga.

  • @rovercrew Atari with an 68k??? lool Amiga have POWER PC boards, software, and so on.. Atari is Death almost 15 years ago!!! please face it noob!

  • @tommyjones1978 Sorry to break it to you, but to put it your way 'Commodore is death' as well, and believe it or not, the Atari 'have' software too. You are referring to Amiga clones based in different generations, obviously a god damn power PC engineered years later is going to be more advanced than a 68k based system. And if you are going to use that childish argument, then I can say all Amigas are shite because I have a top spec x86 PC. Your argument is now death noob ^_^ looooooool!!!

  • @rovercrew

I'm an Amiga guy, but I respect that when it came to sound, the Atari Falcon was superior. There were Amiga models that never came to light that could have competed (the A3000+ was meant to have a DSP too), shame that Commodore never properly supported them. Both camps have interesting hardware still being released, like the ACP and Natami. If you've not heard of the Natami you should check it out, I think you'll find it interesting.

  • @blahdelablah

That should be FireBee rather than ACP, ACP is the name of the project, FireBee is the name of the hardware.

  • @tommyjones1978 Where as the ATARI didn't have the spec of video, sound and audio it had a fucking great OS for its time considering the amiga was command based only >.>

  • @FursonaWorldLLC Oh, and the Atari was faster aswell with up to a 4MB Ram size. I have a 520 that's been upgraded to 4MB Ram. (4 times the speed of a 1040 ST or a top range amiga)

  • Amiga rules - st sound like an 8 bit crap.

  • Amiga, all the way

  • I had an STe... for a year before I got an Amiga.. after being absolutely horrified by the sound on this supposed awesome machine! Sound was a step down from the C64!

..addmittedly both can be a little hard on the ears nowadays lol

  • @WhatKateyDid yes, you sure have to be "Chip-Infected" to love the Sound nowadays. ;)

  • Amiga

  • @ShiryuGL yeah,baby XD

  • @SarahKreuz78 you know it.

  • amiga wins <3

  • @ZzrRetroMixes I guess there`s no doubt who wins over here. Better luck the next Time for the Atari ST ;)

  • AMIIIIGAAAAAAAAAA

  • lol this was awesome i love the beat haha
