I actually just got back from going there. It is the most surreal thing to witness in person. I remember when I went as a kid and going there tonight was just so different. We climbed the wooden roller coaster and went inside all the buildings. It was so crazy but an awesome adventure!

If you go go in daylight hours. Might want to hurry they just passed the plan to rebuild it as an outlet mall.

When this place was first Jazz Land it was awesome. The area replicating Pontchartrain Beach was a huge attraction. We went again in 2003 after Six Flags purchased it just two years before the storm and once again we had a great time. Its creepy and sad to see it like it is today. Thanks for posting.

But, if this was in my neighborhood, i would hope that it would be fixed and i could enjoy it again, so i would not want to trash it up anymore than it was. Man i use to work here at JazzLand (that was the name of it before 6 flags bought it) I worked there the summer after high school- 2000. I worked the Mega Zrph, which was the roller coaster. good times and memories.
I along with a few friends went in. It was scary at first but then everything from my childhood came back. I remembered all the days I spent inside the park. Too bad kids these days only get joy out of breaking stuff. And the most recent news on the park is that it's abandoned and six flags still has the rights to it but won't sell it cheap enough back to the city. Rob zombie was going to buy it for a film and make it operational again bur permits wouldn't allow it to happen.

When I am older and earn lots of money from my job, I am going to go there, buy it, and restore the park. I'm going to reopen it and people can go back there to have fun again. <3

@djmax45238 No it wasn't. Stop spreading rumors. The park is still up, they just rejected the plan to rebuild it as a theme park and instead are proposing to build an outlet mall. I live an hour away and this was on the local wbrz news today.

@JoshBroz I'm an hour away and was DYING to go see it then I found out I was pregnant with twins so of course I can't go now. It's not in a good area at all and it's not that easy to just always walk in. If you're gonna go I'd go soon. They just proposed to start building an outlet mall there bc the theme park to be rebuilt was rejected.

They are not redoing this park. It is scheduled to be torn down. The Nickelodeon deal fell through.

I watched this a few days ago and got really depressed for over 4 hours. I tried listening to christmas music to cheer me up and watching tv, but nothing worked. Now i'm watching it again, feeling like I'm gonna cry.

They should have boarded the place up before abandonning it. Would have been way more awesome. I kinda want to go there, add fake bloodstains on the floor and wall and write GET OUT WHILE YOU CAN.

When I am older and earn lots of money from my job, I am going to go there, buy it, and restore the park. I'm going to reopen it and people can go back there to have fun again. <3
