brown does not compare to anyrunning back these days. players now would trample him. but he has more heart and dedication. he was the best for his time, nothing more. People these days are too well trained. the faster there stronger. We've got linemen running as fast as he did.
Jim Brown would roll over Ray Lewis, etc. Your comments are moronic. Jim Brown is not only greatest pro football RB, he is greatest athlete of all time. The Browns have won 8 Pro Football Championships, third all time after GB (12) and Chi (9). "Super Bowl" is JUST a marketing term.
OK, Jizz, you know everything, past and present. And nothing will penetrate your hard wired brain cells. You also have players today ARTIFICALLY pumped up and get hurt with a little bump, due to the steriods that screw up their muscles: SO IS THAT MAKE A TOUGHER PLAYER TODAY? No way Jizzer, the players today are FAUX-big, and Jim would f(&&king roll them over and send them to the hospital with their streriod-weakened muscles that tear like paper.
HE PLAYED AGAINST HIS PEERS, NO PERSON HAS EVER DOMINATED ANYTHING LIKE JIM BROWN.
HE IS THE GREATEST PERSON TO EVER PLAY NFL FOOTBALL PERIOD!! THEY HAD ONE CAMERA ANGLE NOT 16 LIKE TODAY. HE IS THE BEST ATHLETE EVER. Besides if you saw him play you would be as convinced as Barry Sanders dad is that Jim was the greatest. How many fathers would say that on national TV with their son playing in that game and having a great game. That says it all. Dad
The Browns have 10 Championships, across 2 leagues, if I'm not mistaken, since Otto Graham won a championship every year that he played, and he played for 10 years.
I heard something about Otto Graham and 10 Championships anyway, and you'd probably know better than me, since I'm not very big on the Browns, myself (Nothing against them... Jim Brown is one of my all-time favorite athletes), but I DO know that the Bears actually had the first 'undefeated' seasons in the 1920s or 1930s :S
But the Bears lost those championship games, (to the Giants, 13-30 in 1934 and the Redskins 6-14 in 1942). The 1948 Browns and 1972 Dolphins won their title games- but only the Dolphins were in the NFL at the time. By the way, there were three undefeated teams before there were championship games, (1920-32), but they all had ties.
If Jim Brown was in his prime today he would've destroyed his own records.
Why?
Because he didn't have the same equipment and facilities to train as they do today and he would have a sixteen game plus schedule instead of twelve game schedule.
Plus, they were actually allowed to "hit" each other in his day.

I think Barry was the greatest, Brown is second. Although Brown dominated his era more than anyone ever. Just an easier era to run in than Payton, Sanders, and now because of the size of the defenders.
Brown could've dominated today's era if he grew up with the perks that today's athletes have that make them faster and bigger than those players were. Brown had more career touchdowns than Sanders despite not playing in as many games. He's the greatest player in NFL history.
What?? Jim Thorpe... the dude was "good" at the least but come on he played when in the stone ages? do u honestly think he could compete in the NFL today? NO!!!! exactly gotta give the legends props but there is no way in heck he could do good now, guys are to strong fast and all that,Jim Brown probably,LT,Barry Sanders,Walter Payton,DUHHH. WTF are you even talking about dude,
Okay,i came off more arrogant than i meant to, i wasnt trying to put Jim Brown down i was talking about thorpe.Brown was one of the greatest of all time if not THE greatest, He is a huge beastly man at 6,3 or whatever, i was talking about thrope. but for me i would have to have put barry at #1 if u just watch the way he runs its very entertaining. Sorry for the mix up dude
Dude Dude Dude! jim brown doesnt have good vision????? okay when you say he'd just break throught them, well, you saound very stupid, he was a power back more than not stupid, thats what they DO!! hes not a barry sanders or a Ladanian Tomlinson, Jeeze some people man.....
Dumbass, Jim had to good through racist times where people would knee you in the groin and break fingers purposely and the officials would see!!! Also defenders poked in Jim's eyes hell yes his vision would be blrry through that. Wnd of story Brown=The Great One
there hasn't ever been a more dominant runner than brown, period. his combination of size and speed as compared with the other players of his era is comparable only with the bo jackson stood head and shoulders above his peers in terms of talent. to put brown into the proper perspective, thinking about it in today's terms, it would be like a back bigger than brandon jacobs with the moves and speed of ladamian tomlinson
I agree. Not to mention Jim Brown was a FullBack, and there hasn't been any FullBacks that have done what he did. The only other FB I can compare him with is Joe "The Jet" Perry, cause both of them were fast and strong.
Did San Huff own Jim Brown? I don't think so...his definitive quote on Jim Brown was "All you could do was grab hold and wait for reinforcements" in NFL history don't think ANY player successfully tackled Jim Brown one on one ...except maybe Big Daddy Lipscomb...
Barry was flashy you couldn't get your hands on him, but here is why Jim Brown is better, he was just as hard to get a hold of and even if you did he would truck your ass and keep going. The man could not be tackled. If we had all the video of Brown you would be able to see his flair just like Barry's. He is the greatest to ever play the game.
when was this, he may have got one or two good hits, if that, i watched tons of JB's films from nfl highlights and never seen Sam Huff do any of that..I even read JB book "Out of Bounds"

He played in 10 straight Champ games.
Cle has 8 Championships:
1946-1947-1948-1949
1950-1954-1955-1964
Cle also had the FIRST undefeated season (not Mia) in 1948 at 15 & 0 !
This is all legit, since Cle won the Championship in 1950 when transfered to NFL; NFL needs to be lobbied to recognize AAFC, like they do for AFL.

Are you really this fucking stupid? Have you seen Jim Brown's physical presence at his current age? He still looks beastly.
Speed doesn't make you good in the NFL. It's an accessary to the skill set you have to play the game.
He is the greatest RB to ever play the game period. And in my book Eric Dickerson is 2nd.

Jim Brown was such a good athlete, he should be winning this athleit poll and any other poll he's included in.
Ideally, I would like to see hundreds of his fans on there voting him up. You can vote once every five minutes or so at your own convenience.
All you have to do is register. Fly Publishing will e-mail a log on password.
