yes i have 'guessed' that my larger normal senegalas bichir is a female because of her thin and small anal fin, if you look at the albino one his anal fin is much thicker looking and more noticeable.
I have one too, but he is only like 2 inches long and he more than a year old. Do you feed live fish? I have only tried carnivore pellets on mine and he's not much bigger. Probably b/c there isn't a high amount of protein in pellets.
