I think that the original super mario bros. Does not hold up. Repetitive and a bit cheap in terms of game design/difficulty at times. I don't judge based on visuals, but the colors used are boring and the whole game doesn't really have a style. As fatman says, a game that constantly changes its mechanics stays fresh and the original doesn't do that either. Smb3 is really the peak of 2D platforming in my opinion. It constantly throws new things at you, has very refined, creative gameplay/level d
Since you are a real gamer, I am 99,9999999% sure that you have played the original Super Mario Bros. If so (or should I say since?) can you please tell me what is you opinion about that? Cause I have played this game for 17 years non-stop and I am not still bored with it! Do you think it is really great and timeless (as you define timeless in your Half Life review) or do you think it hasn't aged well? Sorry if the question is a bit silly and keep up the good work!!
I wish you had a PS3 and a copy of Demon's Souls! It's one of the best games I have played in 30 years of gaming and I'd be very interested in your opinion of it.
@alerommel1 I have not yet met him in person (the accents perhaps give away the fact that we live in different countries!) but he and I have been close friends online for the last four or five years.
Ok, thanks, I will do as you asked the next time, I'm on my iPod and all and it is just too time consuming to go on safari to comment, but next time I'll be commenting on your channel, thanks again for your feedback.
@TheDelta0214 If I bought one I'd probably get an Alienware, but it makes much more sense to buy the components and build it yourself. You save a lot of money that way.
@TheDelta0214 That was actually my error, not yours. You asked right! But I don't know what you mean? I will be building it myself using high end gaming components.
oh yeah, one more thing, when you talk in your reviews, do you record your voice while playing that gameplay thats in the footage or do you record gameplay and record what you say and overlap it with the video? thats the best way i could ask it, hope it makes sense to you.
i ran out of characters from the last comment, i had to delete some of the punctuation marks, but uh well.... if only the comment boxes can contain an infinite amount of letters to be written, people can go into depth with some comments if they have to justify something. obviously i like to go in depth with my comments, unlike some people that just put small phrases, but yet to be honest i do the same sometimes... have you been gamer of the week? a friend of mine was talking to me about that.
did you have a another PC from before? in a few ways i think you mention that your PC right now might not be the best. what kind of PC would you get next? your reviews are the best by the way, as I have been a supporter for your videos for the past year and a half they are the best because you actually go into further depth in explaining gameplay elements, unlike those people out there who think they can 'review' but the other peoples' problems are that they just talk about the pros not the cons
Definitely, just because a game has a..."family-friendly aesthetic" doesn't mean that the game can't appeal to crowds over the age of 12. Personally, I find the way it's presented to be quite charming and the music is very pleasant as well. I dunno, it's hard for me to give feedback on a review that completely hits the nail on the head. Haha.
@antisocialfatman Really? I never noticed. I must be going blind. I'll go find the review now. I only bought it tonight but from what i've seen its my type of game through and through. I'm not firing it up till tomorrow though, its midnight here and i plan on getting some sleep in a minute.
By peak of 2d platforming i meant peak of the mario 2d games.

Ok, what I mean was, if you were to buy a PC, which one will it be to replace the one you own?

@antisocialfatman Alienware is very overpriced for what you get. The build-quality isn't really that superb either.

@TheDelta0214 I record the footage, write the review and record the review audio all separately.
In the future, can you please post comments not about the video in question on my profile page? Thanks.

Thanks for introducing me to so many great games :)

You should probably turn off the Steam chat when recording footage for a review, or at least disable the in-game overlay?
Good review as always!
I find myself with a few extra bucks to spend, are you currently looking at some games to review that you can't afford?
GigaBoost 9 months ago
@GigaBoost CreaVures and Hector: Episode 1 both look good, but I don't know if I can actually run either without demos.

I really wonder why you always keep steam notifications turned on when capturing footage. It really stands out and not for the better.
But otherwise, good as ever.
