@RaffNTemp Many times you will fell a vibration in the wheel while on the highway, or when you back up you may hear a clunk noise from the front. We also have this great video that will show you how to inspect them. Hope this helps you out. youtube.com/user/1aauto?feature=mhee#p/search/4/7dNgq_9frNc
I subscribed to alldata to do this project (Worthless). It was a long day I can tell you that. The second side will go smooth thanks to your video. I can not even put into words how much this video is appreciated.
@JaynJessf My 98 Sienna Alldata-diy subscription left me feeling about the same. Maybe the other Alldata subscription go further, but their cost is prohibitive for me. The how-to videos from 1AAuto.com are first rate in my book.
Great video, changing my Lower ball joint this weekend (Chevy Blazer 99'), it's the original so need to break off rivets. What size bolts do you recommend to replace the rivets??
looks like you were using Allen Head Cap Screws, any advice appreciated, thanks.
Thank you for posting these video's they help a lot especially when you're working on a 1998 GMC Jimmy. Although I couldn't get that arm to drop enough so I ended up taking loose the upper ball joint and dropping the rest of that assembly to access the lower ball joint. So I had to torque that top castle nut up again so it was correct.
Its not the same on any s10/blazer/Jimmy. The 2wd have press in lower balljoints, please change your intro

Very informative. I'm about to replace my lower ball joints on my 1997 chevy silverado 4x4--is it much different than for this S-10?
mtinne01 1 month ago
@mtinne01 The basics should be the same, but some of the steps that needed to remove them may be slightly different.

mine wont separate :( I have the 3 bolts out, but no amount of wrenching/prying will get the hub/bearing to budge off the spindle.

should the hub be replaced (like you show) when replacing ball joint(s), or did was that just some else for the video?
jz3r9n 8 months ago
@jz3r9n If their not making any noise and check out fine, you could be just the ball joints.

Do you have to remove the the wheel or axle hub to replace the lower ball joint?

@liekhus52 Yes

Should the upper ball joint be replaced as well?
waterjunkies 1 year ago
@waterjunkies Only if the upper ball joint shows signs of looseness/wear. The lower ball joints on these vehicles are more prone to wear.

Great video! I got a question... When replacing the lower ball joints would you recommend replacing the axle hub as well? Thanks.
run2010100 1 year ago
@run2010100 I would only replace the hubs if they need it. They are not too difficult so replacing them separately is not a big deal.
