Kilimanjaro: The Big Red Nose Climb 6/6

climbed Mount Kilimanjaro last summer.... according to the porters only Chris Moyles and one other made it om their own... the rest had to be carried some of the way lol

I can't believe they started climbing late at night and when they reached the point, the sun was rising... that must have been one heck of an experience for these guys... I'm so proud of them...

@owaisinus yup, its a good 6-7 hours walking before you hit the summit, and the aim is to hit the summit at sunrise, so you have to get up at a horrible time - i did it this summer (though we took a different route) and because we also did 8 hours walking the previous day, we only got 3 hours sleep the nigh before the summit! totally worth it though!

@Smailofdeath I did Killi in Jan this year and yea we also only got 3 hours sleep before we summited as well after walking an 8 hour day!! we might have taken the same route... but yea a good 7 hours to reach Gillimans point let alone Uhuru peak!

Does anyone know what route they went? I would really want to climb Kilimanjaro someday.. :)

there is such a lack of cheryl footage in this whole climb, you only see her say like 2 things, one of them being ' i dont think id be going down' you would have thought that they would have included her more especially if she felt like this?

@ellie15uk fair point, but neither has many other people, i dont remeber seeing hardly any of denise van outen apart from when she visited the african and i completley forgot kimberly walsh even was doing it until i saw her at the end

Amazing - so proud of them - that was an amazing feat for them ALL to make it - not just the 9, but the whole group of 160 made it up the hill when on average 30% don't - well done to the organizers!
