Blech! I think I like the second movie better than this!

They're actually gonna be doing a remake of the movie that started it all, and this time make it based more on the book. There won't be a whole lot've melodramatic romance, as Dizzy Flores was a man who gets killed in the first chapter, and Carmen would only go out with Rico when they reunite at OCS...and she along with most other pilots has her head shaved bald making her look as attractive as a cancer patient. Real contrast my friends.

Plus when you don't see a woman for so long, even a mary jane rotten crotch looks good to you assuming you weren't waiting to see a chick you'd basically throw onto bed when you get home (also assuming she didn't right you a dear John letter). But I think such an idea making women pilots shave their heads is a bit of an anachronism with today's regulations on service women.

@ceboym actually laser would be remarkably inneficient and they use them only as short range cutting tools. bullets are cheap and simple. the technology is even easily improved upon. the amount of energy needed to create a laser beam strong enough to cut through steel is ALOT more than the amount needed to make a bullet punch through it. there are high tech weapons like anti matter missiles and plasma but that is large scale destruction. learn your technology buddy.

@nukemell uh no,starcraft is a rip-off of Warhammer40K. BUT the imperial guard from Warhammer40K got inspired by starship troopers. Hope this clears things for anyone wondering.

The series is based on the novel of the same name, which was published in the 50s and read more like a technical manual than an actual novel. Its what made the book stand out among other science fiction books at the time and is still one of the greatest ever published. Try looking for it in a second hand store or e-bay

How do the bugs adapt so quickly? Are their some brain bugs running labs behind the scenes or are the bugs just very fortunate that their evolution always seems to produce a new weapon for them? Thats a pretty solid assumption and one that makes sense. It would also give a large potential pool of candidates to choose from if the supreme Queen gets knocked off or knocked up. In either case they could just pick another Queen. I figure one lesser queen for each race for each colonized planet. Tens of thousands of Queens per galaxy maybe?
