Anne was a great character actress. She did some great roles, and contributed greatly to the films in which she appeared. Did you know she was not the first choice for the role of Mrs. Robinson? It was first presented to Doris Day, who passed on it; then they approached Ava Gardner (who really wanted to play it) but Ava didn't get it (according to Mike, Ava blew the interview by being drunk & appearing difficult, by Ava's account Mike made a pass at her and she withdrew from the project.) RIP
