@delano1001 Your probably more familar with the NG variant and think this flight deck looks nothing like it, the 737, -600, -700, -800 and -900 all have EFIS glass cockpit design, wheras this variant (a classic) is either a -300, -400 or a -500 it's a bit hard to tell from the video but I think it's most likely a -300, possibly a -400. Bu tis is most definitly a 737 just slightly older.
@delano1001 Apologies, obviously wasn't paying much attention first time round my instructor would have failed me for making such an error :) but this aircraft is obviously a 737-200 variant NOT classic as I first thought, it's an orginal, yu can tell because a feature of the classics (-300, -400 and -500) was digital PFD (Primary Flight Display) and analog engine dipsplays and airspeed etc. This aircraft however is all analog, a feature of the orginals and as no -100's exsist it must be a -200.
Japanese people are generally very friendly and make the most reliable cars in the world. I used to share a plane with a Japanese guy for time building many years ago. We are still friends to this day even though we live on opposite ends of the planet.
He may still be a Captain, even though if he's in the other seat. All airlines doesn't have enough F/O's you know. The captain still gets the same amount of experience, and the same salary - so there is no problem in doing things like that.
But tell me. . what did that thumbs-up-thingy at 6:18 mean? "Yey - we're airborne" or "roger whatever the ATC says" or maybe it was some secret code for "flaps up"?

i'm a pilot but it still fascinates me how thorough and methodical they operate. on taxi i think the captain went through emergency procedures briefing with the FO though they've done this thousands of times.

Right NG aircraft
MacExpert 2 years ago
Yes only the NG 737's can have them. But the airlines have to specifically order them on their 737s, it's not a standard feature.

BEST JOB!!
But tell me. . what did that thumbs-up-thingy at 6:18 mean? "Yey - we're airborne" or "roger whatever the ATC says" or maybe it was some secret code for "flaps up"?
:]
objordal 3 years ago
It says as follows.
NH172 "Miho aproach, All Nippon 172 1500".
ATC "All Nippon 172, Miho aproach, climb EAST 1 Departure, Comply with restriction, Report reaching 6000".
NH172 "Report reaching 6000, 172".
In "EAST 1", left turn, then intercept to 060 radial outbound from YVE VOR/DME to INABA, then direct to TOZAN or YME VOR/DME.
It passes over 18-mile point from YVE by 6000 feet or less.
Therefore, it seems that the confirmation of 6000 feet is demanded.
ytake1024 3 years ago
I'm sorry. The meaning of the question was misread.
It is correct in "Roger whatever the ATC says".
The pilot in Japan seems to be doing so.
ytake1024 3 years ago
Thank you very much for your good explanation.
It's so easy to understund.
Please help me again if there is question about our Japanese air control system from anybody from outside of Japan.
Thank you very much again for your cooperate.
