I seriously think I am the only one who doesn't like SLO. It's a cute town, but other than a great university (Cal Poly SLO), it really doesn't have much to offer in terms of diversity or food/shopping/entertainment choices. The area's predominately white too which can feel weird if you're not.
Haha, SLO is phenomenal. Everyone who can get their life in order tries to live there and loves it. You have to be well educated and well bred to survive in a place like SLO. I guess that tells us what we need to know about starfish.
@Ms007miller jackass i have an advanced degree from Cal poly, and you? I've live here for twenty five years, and I have never seen this town so unable to meet it's budget or even meet the needs of its people. Everything is "no, we can't do that" if you talk to the local business owners, you will note that to a man (or Woman) they talk about the lack of "foot traffic" on the streets due to a police force that continually harasses everyone.

@Ms007miller Part two --- in fact, we spend almost fifty percent of our city budget on police and "safety" . That is not in correct proportion. The result is a city wwhere the police ticket you for everything and anything. My guests are continually "terriorized" by the local police and there budget fortifying ticket sprees that they can't enjoy themselves. And this is reflected in the fact that so many local log time businesses are closing their doors.
I'm in San Luis Obispo and believe me its Far from the happiest city in the country. The city government is Gentrified and their favorite word is NO, while they have their hands out for tax revenues. The result of this mis- management is stagnation, nothing changes here its the same old shiite. The job market is a shambles and made worse everyday by local government regulations which are stifling all new businesses. YOU CANNOT RAISE A FAMILY HERE ON A LOCAL JOB, the wages are too low.
@130starfish I agree so much with you! I seriously thought I was the only one. My parents both have good jobs and they can't even afford to live in SLO. It can get so expensive and the town itself really doesn't have that much to offer.
