For this reason, I never translate the word when used in this context. This way, I can refer to /The Traveller/ as the reel in G as played by The Bothy Band, and /Reel Des Voyageurs/ as this reel - as played by La Bottine Souriante in A, without causing any confusion or spreading the false notion that this reel is /The Traveller/ in the wider sense of the word.. Great playing. I really enjoyed listening (and will again) :)
Great stuff! Although 'le voyageur' translates directly as 'the traveller', this reel is /Reel Des Voyageurs/ and the 'voyageurs' were those hardy fur hunters who travelled the Canadian wilderness for months on end by canoe....
