Bah! Magpul, I hate modified ARs. Keep the original look with a standard 7inch RIS, LE stock, stagnag magazines. Magpul just kills the classic image of ARs.
Daniel Defense pays extra attention to detail, indeed. When I was at the gunstores out in CA, a lot of the rifle cases -- not just the rifles -- they come in are truly meticulously designed. You could just tell by the way DD makes their commercials as well. Outstanding.
they should have removed the front sight and made the rail with a built in flip up sight so it doesn't interrupt the line of view on the optics you mount and it would've looked better :D
@jamalicious1 Stacking bone on bone is great for bench shooting but when driving a carbine from target to target in a dynamic shooting situation, just like LAV said, having your hand as far out on the bore as possible gives you more control
DD, BCM and other top quality Manf, build to TDP standards.
I personally feel that people get too tied up with the TDP.
Are the features that many of use enjoy part of the TDP? Midlength, LoPro GB/ff rails, bevelled magwells, ASAP endplates, CHF barrels, custom profiles, 2 stage triggers etc.
To me, MS/TDP is a starting point from which you need to analyze features and make your own decisions on what is right for you.
I'm running DD A1.5 sight on my Bravo Company mid-length upper. I'd highly recommend it to anyone look for a sturdy, well build rear sight for their flat top. It should also co-witness nicely whenever I finish selling off my organs for an Aimpoint.
I'll probably go with the T-1. The M4 is too large and bulky for my intended use. I wasn't too much a fan of the Micro's until I actually used one on a course of fire. The tube is a little smaller on paper, but it's not noticeable at all when the gun is shouldered and being used.
But the DDM4v2 does have the Cold Hammer Forged barrel and price is even cheaper. I've owned a Colt 6920, great gun but I believe your paying for the Colt name too. Nice rifle for the money, best rail system around IMHO.
hey I have a stag also and was thinking about buying some daniel defense products what sort of dd products do you have on your stag and do you have any vids on it.
Must say, for $1399 I really don't think I could have bought a better M4 style AR for the money than the colt le6940. Colt has been producing AR's for over 60 years, and after having owned/shot rifles from RRA, DD, LMT, LWRC,S&W, etc.., it shows in fit and finish. Only 900 rounds through it so far, but somehow I don't think I will be having problems with it. Oh yeah, and the DD M4 does not have a cold hammer forged barrel. Colt all day over the DD M4!
@72chevelless530 yeah but little do most people know Colt doesn't make their own barrels, lowers, stocks, grips. They only make 7 parts for their rifles the rest are made by other companies. This came from a Colt Representative that directly works for Colt.
This is true, but how does this make them worse? Colt is one of the only true mil-spec AR/M16 products, all others except for two (LMT and one other) are designed thru reverse-engineering. I know there is always "better than mil-spec", but just my personal opinion, I have owned/shot many other AR systems and they don't cut it for the money.
@ilsrwy27 That is actually not true, not ALL of them are chf. The first DD M4's did not use chf barrels, and there are rumors that they still let a few out here and there. I am an 07 ffl, and I do speak with DD reps from time to time. Daniel Defense makes a decent rifle, but it's not a Colt.
@72chevelless530 Read my post again, I did not imply it was the same as Colt, I said the metal DD uses (meaning on their current production rifles) is actually slightly different from Colt (past production and rumors nonwithstanding).

God I hate those GAY 4 rail handguards that extend past the front sight post. It just looks retarded. Next lose the fixed sights especially the fixed front sight post. Just throw on flip up sights and call it a day. After watching plenty of Larry Vickers videos and shows Ive realized hes nothing compared to a Chris Costa or Travis Haley.
Well, those "gay" rails are not for looks. some of us use that rail space foward of the front sight post for a small light at 12:00. As far as the fixed sights, if your running a red dot sight, it makes alot of sense to have irons in place . If the RDS fails, you transition without having to do anything. Oh and not to take anything away from the magpul boys, but LV resume is a tad more impressive.
Yes I know what they are for I just hate the way it looks. Ill stick to my M4 with folding sights. I just dont see why people get an M4 or AR-15 with the fixed A2 sight post and want to make it tactical. That damn sight post really hampers youre vision with any aftermarket sight system. Thats why you get flip up sights by the way. In case your EOtech, Acog, Aimpoint, fails just flip the sights up and youre good to go. Next, I just prefer Travis Haleys teaching methods over Larry Vickers.
Yeah Ive seen it. That rail system is fine, but I still have my prejudices against the fixed post. I just hate how it gets in your way. But back to the Daniel Defense M4V2. That rail is WAY better than the piece of shit on this M4. The retards that say longer rails on this M4s are great for accessories are dumb. Yeah, lets totally have a rail system that extends past the sight post, that way we can put more shit on it and add weight to the front of the rifle so its harder to control.
who cares how heavy it is man lift some weights and buck up I carried a saw for the first year in the army when they issued me my m4 it felt like a feather even with the attachments.
I was talking about people in general, and I was speaking more for dealing with the sway the rifle will have with weight up front. I can carry and handle my Sabre Defence M4 all day long. Im just sayin for casual shooters and/or someone not proficient in handling a rifle they might have a hard time if they start puttin shit on the end of the rifle. Weight toward the middle and back doesnt mean shit, but you start adding weight up front it can give people problems.
shit yeah that is my next rifle. I emailed them because the website said that the M-4's were out of stock. they told me that its in stock most of the time and when I am ready to order give them a call.
Nice rifle, but I don't understand why DD chose to utilize a fixed front sight base. The rifle would look much sleeker with a folding front sight and a shorter rail handguard.
@blueeyesinargentina the reason for the front sight is that it's on the M4's being used by the military, so they have to work around it. besides, having a folding sight means breakable parts and a breakable sight. also people will fold them down and then see a target and realize that their red dot isn't on. so they are stuck point shooting.
@blueeyesinargentina high speed pro shooters like the feel of a longer rail. So they can extend their forarm out more. Shooters have a longer reach so they can drive the barrel an mantain recoil better. 3 gunners have been doing it for years. Combat shooters are picking up on it The fixed sight goes with the "when an if" your red dot optic goes down. The fixed sights are already up and your still in the fight. This isnt about looking cool its about staying in the fight an being combat effective
How to pronounce it seems to be a geographical thing, many Americans I've noticed say car-bean while Brits tend to favour car-bine. It really annoys me sometimes lol depending on the accent.

@jebustheone You're right about the Technical Data Package. It's the starting point. (The point from which to begin)
A rifle that does'nt meet the TDP standard (or at least most of it ) should be ruled out as a serious defensive / tactical weapon.
Of course there are gun makers that go above & beyond the TDP. Noveske N4 & Knights SR-15
A good list for aftermarket accessories is the US Military C.O.T.S. " Commercial Off The Shelf ".
The Army does all the research so you dont have to.

Left-handed upper w/ charging handle, and parts kit - Stag
Left handed bolt carrier group - Stag
Lower reciever w/ parts kit and buffer tube assembly - Stag
Magpul CTR stock
Yankee Hill Machine flip up front sight/gas block and gastube, Matech BUIS rear sight
YHM Phanton flash hider, DD lite rail 7in, 16 in cold hamer crome barrel DD, 1/7 in twist.
