I like the vid, the devs have alot of passions for the game. Its nice to play a heroes game with good looking graphics, sure its different from the older games but I enjoy the amount of depth and replay value. There is a million different paths you can take which lets me play the game over and over finding more fun ways to play every time. Thumbs up from me for Heroes 6!

I thought the demo was a bit boring but out of all the factions I liked Stronghold the best. Updated Harpies and Centaurs in particular were pretty handy.
Cyclops I thought were actually better un-upgraded. Once they are upgraded they become ranged but have a very low range, can no longer attack fortifications and deal fire damage that's not increased by the stronghold faction ability.

@booze505 You can play it that way! Choose their magic hero (shaman) and choose more defensive spells/abilities (defense, tacics, light/earth magic) and/or go for the Tears upgrade (Earth Shaper)!
Ps: all factions have a might and a magic hero! For stronghold
might-> the Barbarian that can be upgraded into a Chieftain(tears) or a Warmonger(blood)
magic-> the Shaman that can be upgrade into a Earth Shaper(tears) or a Storm Caller(blood)

@booze505 let me put it like this: Stronghold in H6 are more flexible and can take more playstyles than the H3 Stronghold, the blood rage ability is not that central as you think! As for the luck part, if you mean luck when it came to spells and skills....goood riddance! Leveling up to 15 and only then you might get logistics? Fun, oh so much fun and lolz! Infuriating more likely!

I've been playing the beta and FYI this new version is a lot like heroes 3 was, but with a few new refinements. Not like the shitty game that was heroes 4, and the average game that was heroes 5. Think heroes 3 with better graphics, more refined combat and larger ability branching and hero customization. For instance, you can now have war cries instead for your might heroes, or pick passive abilities.
Heroes 2 was awesome for it's era, that's all. Heroes 3 was so good, Heroes series was in it's prime time. Heroes 4 was not so bad, actually. It has several downsides but still an enjoyable game. Heroes 5 in other hand, is rather bad and very boring.

Fourth HoMM was the best. It had great graphics, and wonderful gameplay but you had to get used to the diffeerent heroes gameplay design. I reckon its awful to consider it as "lame" because it really wasn't. THe only reason people say that is because they compare it to the other heroes games and so criticsie it coz the graphics "just weren't as good." If you considered it on its own merits as a single game, there would be no complaints.

Heroes 3 is a huge milestone imho. I dislike negative people but still, heroes 4 and 5 were big disapointments for me. Although this looks different, promising, I'm still worried. H3 had the edge with the cartoon-like graphics, simplicity, and the heroes who do not engage in combat. Disciples 3 (and 2&1) had some clever instruments to be inspired by. I hope that this'll be good.
I wish they would redo H3 with a new graphics engine, maybe add some more kingdoms. That's all it needs.
And I actually liked when Orcs WEREN'T the ubiquitous melee bashers, using them and Cyclops at range and upgraded trolls could cast. Melee orcs = cliche.

In my opinion, Heroes 5 ToE was the best game in the series. I even have the H5 Collector edition with all 5 games and expansions, and Heroes 5 is the most complete and strategical game, with an amazing synergy with every unit and their respective hero.
Will deffinately give Heroes 6 a good vote, seeing the gameplay becomes better and harder to master. Hope i won't be disapointed.

Awesome. I've been a heroes fan since heroes 1 and I've been thinking years and years when the next one comes out. It's true that since heroes 4, it's lost its flavor. This episode looks quite promising. I really how the adventure map looks like and there seem to be lots of fresh additions as well as old features.
However, the combat looks graphically too much like warcraft 3 and a bit basic and chaotic. I'm definitely excited but I hope Heroes 6 lives up to its expectations
@raimoa1 thats a bit harsh on h5. h4 was a bastard love child of shit and failiure, but h5 was very good, especially when all the expanciosn ironed out the flaws and added plenty teams. i went back to h3 after it (and i love both games) but other than the much grater amount of objects and neutral creatures in the older game they are very similar and the art style and user friendliness of the new one are great, overall making it the best of the series so far imo.

the battle system now is really sluggish and ugly looking, it worked way better in heroes 3 (even if it was a bit too predictable)
heroes is suppoed to be filled with colours and simple looking items
it doesnt have to try to make everything look as realistic as possible
thats the mistake that a lot of game developers do today
they focus too much on the graphics and forget to improve the gameplay
keep what was good with heroes 3 (moving around the map, graphics) and make the battles more fun

"The Blood Rage improves their already impressive offensive capabilities". Does it mean that it will work like H5 where the Orcs have SUCKY stats because of this and will have to depend on the Blood Rage to get them on par? I like the creatures in Heroes 5, but I dont like their stats.

Fourth HoMM was the best. It had great graphics, and wonderful gameplay but you had to get used to the diffeerent heroes gameplay design. I reckon its awful to consider it as "lame" because it really wasn't. THe only reason people say that is because they compare it to the other heroes games and so criticsie it coz the graphics "just weren't as good." If you considered it on its own merits as a single game, there would be no complaints.

Fuck.... im pretty sure hero cant fight like the 4.... and i bet once we scout it is forever, i also think range units not do 50% dmg against far units even if they are hiding behind brush...... why do we keep making the game easier and boring...sad.... u like 12356 or 4.... but not both because they arent the same at all...

Heroes 3 is a huge milestone imho. I dislike negative people but still, heroes 4 and 5 were big disapointments for me. Although this looks different, promising, I'm still worried. H3 had the edge with the cartoon-like graphics, simplicity, and the heroes who do not engage in combat. Disciples 3 (and 2&1) had some clever instruments to be inspired by. I hope that this'll be good.

I wish they would redo H3 with a new graphics engine, maybe add some more kingdoms. That's all it needs.
And I actually liked when Orcs WEREN'T the ubiquitous melee bashers, using them and Cyclops at range and upgraded trolls could cast. Melee orcs = cliche.

In my opinion, Heroes 5 ToE was the best game in the series. I even have the H5 Collector edition with all 5 games and expansions, and Heroes 5 is the most complete and strategical game, with an amazing synergy with every unit and their respective hero.
Will deffinately give Heroes 6 a good vote, seeing the gameplay becomes better and harder to master. Hope i won't be disapointed.

@e23qu31 Most Strategic game is Heroes IV cuz you have to choose carefully what you buy in your town and you have to develop your hero cuz will die in the first battle. For ME HEROES IV AND HEROES V are the best
every body prefere HOMM3 but HOMM5 have the same mechanics and even more! And Heroes IV is cool just becouse is not Heroes IV AND Heroes V - new mechanics, new towns.... elements.

Awesome. I've been a heroes fan since heroes 1 and I've been thinking years and years when the next one comes out. It's true that since heroes 4, it's lost its flavor. This episode looks quite promising. I really how the adventure map looks like and there seem to be lots of fresh additions as well as old features.
However, the combat looks graphically too much like warcraft 3 and a bit basic and chaotic. I'm definitely excited but I hope Heroes 6 lives up to its expectations

@raimoa1 thats a bit harsh on h5. h4 was a bastard love child of shit and failiure, but h5 was very good, especially when all the expanciosn ironed out the flaws and added plenty teams. i went back to h3 after it (and i love both games) but other than the much grater amount of objects and neutral creatures in the older game they are very similar and the art style and user friendliness of the new one are great, overall making it the best of the series so far imo.
