It's an artistic choice. You can find plenty of examples in film and television where crushing the blacks is used as a stylistic look. When you optimize the footage you want to keep details in the blacks. Crushed blacks is also associated with the "film look". Of course, I can't see it on your monitor. If your monitor needs calibrating, then it might be making it look a bit darker.
I love the videos you make and look forward to your Fan Made episodes. What happened to the video you made that showed the Doctor witnessing the destruction of the Daleks and the Timelords?
This was absolutley brilliant! better then the one actually broadcasted, it gives you all the feels and darkness and the music really kicks it up! Brilliant absolutley perfect.
I would have liked for the New Series to have done scene remakes either with Eccelston or Tennant especially Tennant as specials or something would have been cool
I freakin love your videos. I would hug you if I could, thank you for making one of the best moments of doctor who history even better. You should try a Survival or Remembrance of the daleks.
I have always welcomed comments of both positive and negative criticism on my videos. I also only ever delete comments that are spam or are solely a personal attack. However, unfortunately, some members of the digitalspy forum (I'm not a member) have decided to express their dislike of my videos by posting hurtful non-constructive comments and other attacks. Therefore, I'm suspending comments, voting, and responses.
I enjoy sharing videos and ideas with other filmmakers, fan filmmakers, and Doctor Who fans in general. I like hearing peoples opinions either way and appreciate that most of them are encouraging. Yet I see no point in their motivation except to cause hurt to a fellow human being they don't know & have never met. This is just an explanation and I adamantly desire that no one return any hateful or hurtful remarks to these people on YouTube, digitalspy, or anywhere.
Hehe, great stuff. I'm not sure about that light flaring though. It seems to go from hardly being on at all to being at full blast, glinting in the camera's direction. Still, epic stuff.
That's due to the YouTube compression. When you see it on the TV in full quality the light glows very nicely and lights up Davros' face creepily. Unfortunately, on here, none of that is as noticeable.
The music was a little over the top in places, (but maybe I'm just so used to the practically silent version).
I also just noticed, Davros and the Doctor seem to have buttons and switches mixed up, pressing a switch and pushing a switch that is quite clearly a button.
Ah, but a button works off the principal of a switch. In other words, when a button is pressed, it operates a switch that allows a current to pass. :)
Love the grading and the new effects absolutely brilliant, just not to sure about the music. Maybe a little overstated. Otherwise 11/10 keep em comming :-)
I'll pit the worst of the "Clasic" Dr Who against the best of the current series and... never mind. They're both great for their own reasons. Love 'em.
I think the blacks are way too low, you're loosing detail.

music is bit loud but its still good

Once again, really good. The only criticism I have is that the music was a wee bit too loud in places - sometimes invaded on Davros's epic speech.
But that's minor ;)

Gripping work! The capsule speech is my favorite!

What music are you using during the opening credits?
Love the entire thing... brilliant, brilliant!

The opening credit music is from Martin Johnson's Act One closing music to the Dalek Masterplan stage play.

Ah, that's a shame. A lot of videos seem to suffer the same fate, compression getting the better or some effects. It skips frames sometimes!
