Hell yes. Death Note rocks. Have you seen the Live-Action Adaptation yet? its pretty impressive, especially the sequel, they changed around the ending so L does not die in it. I actually prefer the movie ending to the Anime.

I Recommend: Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Nana, School Rumble, High School of the Dead, Occult Academy, Welcome to the NHK, Nodame Cantabile (Live-Action is better, but the anime is good too), Elfen Lied, Samurai Champloo, Baccano!, & Honey and Clover.

One that I want to recommend to you is Zombie Loan. I love love LOVE it. It only has 13 episodes, but it's really good, and it's a manga as well which is longer. It seems like something you'd like, so give it a look!
