Hi. I am 12 and I am just about to start the bassoon. It has been my dream since 4th grade. They made me start with the clarinet. Excited to make the switch. :)
AHH! why did i have to choose to play the borin trumpet! i wish i could switch to bassoon so bad. it's probably one of the coolest instruments ever, no joke.
You are wrong. I am brazilian, and chorinho is not usually danced, furthermore, Ernesto Nazareth's music is not real chorinho, like Chopin waltzes are not real waltzes: and, like Chopin's waltzes, they are not meant for dancing.
i do that too, once i hit the bass clarinet in the head by an accident , another time the entire back row was rocking side t5o side in unison and we didnt even try to do that, my friend in the audience told me that after we played
Actually the name of the song is ODEON, by Ernesto Nazareth. This is a "Brazilian Tango", as it was called by the time. But it is more like a "chorinho".
I've played Bassoon, and this song isn't 'hard' in the context most people are saying it is. The way the music is put together makes it seem very difficult, but separating it you can tell it's not all that hard.
Sorrry, pal, Nazareth composed it for himself to play on the piano. He played the piano. at the Odeon Movie Theater in Rio de Janeiro before the show began and this was sort of a tribute to the place which was the meeting point of high society at the time.
It is very well played, but nobody in his senses would ever dance to "Odeon". It has always been music to be listened, not to be danced to.
I love the bassoon. It is such a cool instrument and people who play it are cool too- that is why I play it. I am really good at it. I am advanced compared to the other bassoonist my age in Wisconsin- and some older. I am 12.
I finnaly got my Bassoon :D

That is not a brazilian dance, this is Odeon by Ernesto Nazareth, which is not dance music.

@AndreKugland Yes it is, go to any bar that plays "chorinhos" and you will see couples dancing it.

it's all in the size of your half hole. High G is probably one of the most stable notes in the upper octave range once you get it down.
