One measure of your research in even finding this song—is that in the R.H. column where YouTube usually lists other renditions of the same song, there is NO "Bold General Wolfe." I realize I should have noticed this before, but, apparently, ballads like this were a popular way of spreading news in the mid-18th century (the time of the epic battle @ Quebec between Montcalm & Wolfe).
