no doubt that grandeur of our mysterious fate is time bound.i think even at this point of time it compels us to contemplate about the horrors of war and present time terrorism.all because of hatred and enemity.these power hungry individuals brainwash the innocents youths and guide them on the path of hatred and destruction.ultimately its the good deeds on the sands of time leave their empeccable marks.
A poem about human arrogance i think and the arrogant futility of those who style themselves as kings and conquerers, as Ghandi said they never endure but its still a relevant lesson to us in this day and age (perhaps especially so) One of my favourite poems.
i'm glad you could share your thoughts on this poem, and yes i agree about human arrogance and the futility .. but then, we are reviewing things at a totally different time .. who knows what the future generation 4 millenea from today will say about our own generation ?
The world changes but we do not, our morality, ethics and outlook changes but human beings always remain the same, the struggle for power, wealth and land is still something that adversly effects the world even to this day. Personally i hope that there are still people alive in 4000 years but entropy is a factor in all we build, one day it will be our cities buried beneath other greater citys or time will have claimed them. Ozymandias is a poem that addresses the inevitability of our endeavours-
Wow, you did a wonderful job of this! Ozymandias is a favorite poem of mine, and I feel readings can add so much life and emotion to the words... I was disappointed with the videos I found until I heard this. Exactly the passion and expression I was looking for. Thank you!
re prevoius comment: is this then not a poem about the downfall of a tyrant? is it not about mortallity of even the most powerfull of men? and how time makes all that those who oppress forgotten and fleeting and vain?.. the poem is great and this reading compels me to listen time and again.
You have a beautiful and expressive voice, which along with the visuals and the music, and the poem itself (Ozymandias!)- a poem I have not read since youth but remember now with pleasure - make this a hypnotically enjoyable video.
and yet there he stands, for long enough to be remembered. Interesting poem.

@shakarman I agree and as taught by our religions to do good and love one another ,what will be left will be that which is of Gods love and ours.
