  • The BBC should have apologised for broadcasting anything that featured Jasper 'As Funny As A Kick In The Balls' Carrott in the first place!

  • Comment removed

  • thought this was when the programme made fun of the shooting of steven waldolf in a sketch which was much worse, i wont go into it

  • Back when the BBC were still making programmes that you knew at a glance were on the BBC. Nowadays, they try to emulate/copy Sky and ITV, 'dumbing down', so much that there's got to be something either loud, brash or, 'exciting',on the screen every 3 seconds as a way of trying to keep the viewers' attentions. Give me the more reserved, 'I can manage to spend a minute or two watching without expecting to be distracted by some gimmick/loud noise, thank you very much', style of TV, any day.

  • I thought this was the BBC apologising for showing Jasper Carrot and claiming it was comedy!

  • Is that when Jasper later referred to this MP as being "pissed as a fart" in the House of Commons? And went on to say "he sued me....and won! .....Bastard!"? LOL

  • 1986??? wow that's when i was born!!

  • 1986!!! Shit im getting old.

  • @MRSPIKE001

you think you're old, I was 16 in 1986, he he

Jasper Carrot is in his 60s now

  • That song plays during the recent 'Write The Future" World Cup campaign by Nike...didn't realize it was that old!

  • I like it, its a very clever way of saying "Oh, go cry emo-kid, if you can't take a f*cking joke!"

  • Brilliant.

  • Does anyone know what that track is that plays at the start of "Carrott Confidential"?

    Sounds pretty badass!

  • @welshfilmbuff It was Hocus Pocus by Focus

  • @welshfilmbuff The track is called Hocus Pocus by the band Focus! Sorry I'm a year late!

  • RIP Beeb. The programmes were better then too.

  • is this bergerac?

  • it is indeed

  • @danielthomasslade I thought so too. I think it is.

  • who the fuck is mr. Davies

  • Hocus Pocus for the theme tune :)

  • It should also be mentioned that Denzil Davies was a Labour MP ...

Had it been a Tory the Mail/Sun would probably have stirred up more fuss even back then ...

  • I was just about to say 'who the F**k is Denzil Davies? i thought he was Del Boy's mate who drove long distsnce trucks in Only Fools and Horses.

  • a propos Brand/Ross, I will remain convinced forever that the *real* reason the Mail stirred it up was to get Obama off their front page, because by then it was obvious he was going to win and cause their greatest humiliation on the world stage since Suez.

  • i believe this was when jasper made comments about denzil davies being drunk in parliament.

  • As I recall, Denzil Davies had apparently been described as "unwell" during the week and Jasper merely noted that "unwell" was "a parliamentary euphemism for 'legless as a fart'." The pop was at politicians' flowery language rather than their persons, but some MPs were/are evidently too thin-skinned for office.

  • OMG! I used to watch this show all the time as a kid. I never realised they used Hocus Pocus by Focus as the theme tune. No wonder I loved that song the moment I heard it a few years back.

  • Sorry To ask but what happened? Who insulted who? I dont remember as im only 14!

  • Cricket still on BBC?! This really was ages ago.

  • the picture of looks stupid
