The budget for hairstyling for this movie must have been HUGE. None of Baby's family members ever had the same hairdo twice! (Perhaps that's where ALL the budget went - tee hee hee.)
For all of you asking how the social worker has such a big house, maybe before the accident her husband was very rich and the guy's wife and mother still have plenty to live on, so she only needs a modest income otherwise.
I can't say I liked it, but it was certainly different - I'll give it that much.
Amusing film! ! Surprising end. I am amazed at the HUGE mansion Baby's family lived in -considering they were on social assistance and equally mazed at the huge mason the welfare worker had. Willing suspense of disbelief on full blast.
Woah. This went from being gross and weird to be fucking disturbing. Gotta say, brilliant ending. Reminded me of something Hitchcock would've done, the way the climax is filmed. Wow.
@thephysicwerewolf I wouldn't know about that. Couldn't bring myself to watch this after reading comments. Personally I am more into Joan Crawfors, Bette Davis an Bad See kind of films.
one sister looked like David Bowie in his Ziggy Stardust days, I think I saw a can of Tab, there's a grown man in a pair of plastic pants getting zapped with a cattle prod by his sadistic sister, we actually got to see a character smoking a cigarette, and the whole story itself is just so over the top. What a great film! I love these old 70's weirdo movies and am really grateful to the people who take the time and effort to upload them. Thanks! Really enjoyed this!
LOL...well, that's about as politically incorrect as it gets! This film could NEVER be made today - I can't even begin to count the number of groups who would be boycotting it! Which is why it's so great! I loved this! Never heard of Ruth Roman before, but she's a cross between Joan Crawford, Elizabeth Taylor, and Shelley Winters (she looks exactly like Joan Crawford in Straight Jacket) and she's got a fabulous two-pack-a-day voice (you don't hear those much anymore). And what else? The
Wow that was twisted, every character was psycho, you are bent for uploading and I am disturbed because I watch this kind of stuff. There were so many weird movies in the 70's. Thanks!
That twist ending there was freaky, .. yet, at the same time, rather touching. Damndest thing! Anyway, I love those scary cello bars right at the end there. I also kind of like how alot of these older flicks just had 'THE END like that, .. instead of a shitload of credits at their conclusion.
@madsketcher When Ann tried to convince Mrs. Wadsworth to let her take Baby to daycare I assume it was to kidnap him. When she finally did take him she told the women she was going to transform him into a "man" to lure them to her house, kill them, and bury them under the swimming pool. She had no intention of helping Baby, she just wanted to make her hubby happy. Awww.
Thanks for that - I have wanted to see this again for years. it is a very twisted exploitation film which made quite an impression on me when I saw it so many years ago, and I wanted to see it again but couldn't find it in the usual online shops - no surprises there.
The mother in law asks 'don't you worry that we could end up like them', and right at the end you get the definite feeling that they will! Disturbing, and fortunately totally implausible!
wow the ending really took me by surprise I didn`t see that coming at all.its kind of wrong on both ends. both the mother and the social worker I mean
for real. i'd PRETEND to be a baby so as to hook up with anjanette comer, the social worker. i'm just saying she fine. i'd even poop the works and let her change me. i'd be all about it.
Can you imagine the producer and writer of this film meeting up. " Hey ive got this GREAT idea for a film a retarded adult baby thats being abusused is kidnapped by a social worker who kills the whole family so she can have a playmate for her retarded husband, well throw in some violance and sexual abuse too" " Hey crack open the bubbly ITs gonna be a SMASH"!
@MartinMirror1 Ann the social worker is 72 years old now! Who says we never change?Did anyone notice that all the women in the film, included those of the party were not the skinny anorexic, dieting -for-life-string beans of today?Wake up sisters.
it was a well made movie and enjoyable! especially considering it was about 2 big babies and i really hate babies. i have had nightmares like that! being chased by a baby! i did find the canned infant crying overdone. thanks for the post!
That was a seriously twisted movie. Probably the sickest or twisted-est one I had ever seen. lol. But in a way it was kinda good. Original that is for sure. I think David Mooney is really cute though. But maybe he is cuter not wearing pampers. haha
Well... I also don't really know what to say about it, Jeff. The ending ruined it for me. And they never got to explain why the mother and sisters wanted their 21-year old "Baby' to act like a toddler. Was the mother really punishing Baby because her husband dumped her?
@SofRegina I have to admit, I was thinking that same thing too Sofia. But apparently it wasn't important in the storyline. It was more focused on why the social worker was taking a special interest in this case, and you know why at the end! She was wanted her husband to have a playmate.
@Melisbeth86 Oh I totally agree with you! My friend got me this movie for my B-day because I always wanted to watch this movie and to see how it would end. My sister told me about this movie a while back. Yeah, it was so freaky and disturbing towards the end!!!
@TaMaLu08 It's a psychological horror film....it tells the story of a social worker who investigates an eccentric family which includes "Baby", a 21 year old man who acts like an infant. This movie is just as creepy as it was when I first saw it some 35 years ago. Odd thing is Baby reminds me of the "Stewart" character on MadTV
