  • Did Swami Vivekananda go to China? Some of these photos have typical Karsk scenery from Guanxi province in China in the background

  • A word from this Great man's mouth is more valuable than Billions of Dollar.

  • God sends persons like these who are saintly whenever He wants to address us and orient us to live righteously.

  • I was lucky enough to born where Ramakrishna and Vivekananda's foot print was present. Jai Guru Ramkrishna takurer Jai..

  • Almost a century ago there lived a saint, pilosopher with dedication and conviction to Hindu thought, lived with it, preached it. He became so by the grace and benevolence of his Guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa, who in his lifetime attained God realisation. we need such gurus to open up our eyes to the reality in the universe.

  • @NagarajaM1 I agree with your comments... Please do take care.

  • @CassiusChrysanthe or send me a message

  • thank you

  • The ocean of consciousness spoken of here is our real nature. May the blessings of the holy Swami Vivekananda draw us towards its realization.

  • Many years later his writings would change my life and perspective

of the world. I owe Swamiji a great and eternal debt. He was selfless

and exhorted us to live selflessly.

  • Thanks to all the Mayavadis! They have killed vedic culture.

  • Swami Vivekananda a real hero.

  • Consciousness is universal. Man has to ascend the steps like one ascends to reach the Vaishnodevi or Srivenkateshwara Temple at Thirumala. It is a tough ascent and not for everyone. By consistent practice through our chosen Marga or Path, we can move inwards to a higher and higher consciousness. External aids can help , but minismally. It comes from within, primarliy. The key word is "Sw- Ichcha" - self-will, the journey to Light. Swamiji ,blessed as he was, reached back to the Creator.

  • THESE ARE THE DEVINE SOULS THAT COME TO EARTH TO SHARE KNOWLEGE AND GUIDE MANKIND. THESE PEOPLES ARE THE ONES, WESTERNERS CALL ALIENS VISITED THIS PLANET AND GAVE MANKIND THE FIRST KNOWLEDGE.

    JAI SRI KRSNA

  • Really he is the ideal for the whole world, especially for the young mass irrespective of caste, creed and colour. The pesona , which can uplift the humanity to grandest heights.

  • swawi vivekananda is power of youth. He has a greate power.

  • Swami Vivekananda

    Sai BABA!!!!

  • Why do these swamis have to come to rich Western countries when their own people are in such great need? Couldn't they just write a book? And they seem to collect lonely, rich, white women devotees by the dozen.

  • @rollypollyjoe If Swami Vivekananda didn't come to west, none of the westerners would have known about Advaita vedanta. Even if he wrote a book, nobody in west would have read it unless they know about his greatness. If you have time, I ask you to read his complete works, or atleast Karma Yoga, Raja Yoga and Jnana Yoga by him. He was offered a position at Harvard University to teach Eastern religions but he declined it saying he is a wandering monk and cannot stick to one place.

  • @advaita1976 Thank you for the nice replies. Now, I understand. I very much appreciate your kind and thoughtful replies. I also deeply respect and admire your religion. I am glad that he came here to share his knowledge and goodness with us.

  • @rollypollyjoe He was born in a rich aristocratic family in Bengal in 1863 & his father was a attorney at Culcutta High Court. He passed BA degree in philosophy from Presidency College, Culcutta in 1884 & at that time he would have got a high position in British Civil Service. He renounced all that in pursuit of spiritual truth. He came to US to speak at World Parliament of Religions in defence of Hinduism in 1893 & continued there for 3 years being invited to give lectures in other parts of US

  • @rollypollyjoe He came only one more time in 1899 and stayed in US for one and a half years. He died in 1902 at the age of 39. Of 18 years of his preaching, he spent only four and a half years in the West and rest of the years he was traveling all through India with his message.

  • @rollypollyjoe He was initially not interested to go to West as he thought Westerners will never appreciate Advaita philosophy. But his Guru Ramakrishna urged him to accept the invitation as he thought Westerners should know the greatness of Advaita philosophy and Hinduism and there cannot be a better person than Swamiji for that.

  • @advaita1976 How did he die, and why did he die so young?

  • @No3Patriot He was suffering from asthma and diabetes. But he never cared about his health. He continued travelling and giving lectures. That made his health even more worse. But he is said to have told his disciples that he will not live to forty. He even showed the disciples where he is to be cremated days before his death. He has the habit of entering Samadhi and coming back into consciousness. He died at around 9 PM while he was in Samadhi which his disciples call Mahasamadhi.

  • @No3Patriot Even on the day he died, he taught his disciples in the morning, walked with his disciple Swami Premananda giving him instructions concerning the future of the Ramakrishna Math.

  • @No3Patriot

They say when you meditate u reach higher consciousness. The last body of a human gets alot of suffering and all holy people leave their body early. When the energy of your body reaches upwards, your body becomes weaker and weaker. At least I think so, but they dont bother coz they know its just a body and continue.

  • @cyberstud007 Ramana Maharishi was a holy person and didn't leave his body early. He was 70 when he died. He died from a tumor. The human body is vulnerable to disease at any age. Many yogis do not believe in taking vitamin supplements that might help strengthen their immune system. They removed Ramana's tumor several times but it kept growing back. Most people's consciousness fear death. A yogis consciousness fears nothing- they are beyond all fears.

  • @cyberstud007 The amount of bodily sufferings one gets in last birth is commensurate with the amount of karmas that remain to be exhausted. However it is common for one in last birth to get many ailments because, due to intensity of yoga practice, the karmas that could have otherwise been exhausted in future births become compressed into this lifetime. But again, every case is different.

  • @advaita1976 How can Shri Ramkrishna inspire Vivekananda to go to West? Ramkrishna died in 1886 while Vivekananda went to chicago on 1893.

  • Comment removed

  • @TrueBhishm RmKrsha never mentioned "West" specifically to Narendra , he had only encouraged Narendrato preach , as he believed that that was Narendra's purpose of life. Narendra taught not only in West , but extensively in India too. Narendra decided autonomously to attend Religious Conference in Chicago.

  • when ramakrishna died, vivekananda was alone...he dont know what to do...then he wonders along the country and reaches kanyakumari.....he sits on the rock and prays for rama krishna for 'marg nirdeshan'....he meditates for a whole day..and asks guru to tell him....what is his purpose on earth....then guruji appears in front of him and tells him to manage the monks....n do good for our poor indians..Then he realises to work for poor....for that he need money...where he can get it from west..

  • @rollypollyjoe

hey thats a great question!. It means that you haven't researched enough to know that. Truth can only be clarified through proper reasoning. And its not riches in land that they are seeking nor blind faith that they demand like the religions, they are interested in showing the western civilization as in the science of yoga. This is nothing different from the religions and cults, but they use the same scriptures for their physical benefits. They deal with quantum physics.

  • A true master...just looking at this pictures and reading his words prove his pureness....yes a Avator befits this Being.

  • it is very good to watch thx to up loading...........

  • vivekananda words never fails to inspire

  • @kornguy437 yes! love his raja, jana yoga books..a true Yogi

  • i was so impressed by the life and writings of swami vivekananda.

He has emphasised not on dogma or theory but on being and becoming a man and finally the god, the ultimate truth.....

  • hi thx for u r comment &best of luck to ur future

  • thank you very much for a testimony of someone who had the gift to know this wonderfull guy.Thank u very much for share it with all the youtubers of the world.Hugs from argentina.

  • His complete works are now on wikipedia. Raja Yoga is a must read.

  • thank you so much for that info!

  • who is the woman who is speaking?

  • Sorry, I know her name is Lillian Montgomery but who was she? an American member of Vedanta society?

  • great vedio to inspire youth

  • swami was the only leader who never emphasised, hindu..or any other religion.. his works are about youth, about inspiration.. i liked him as he did not preach religion. we taught a way of life.. that was about achivement.. and then renunciation... he and ramakrishna showed how to achieve greatness , and not necessarily god..and how to achive god living within a society.. u dont need to go to the forest to see god...

  • yes. i am fortunate to own his collection of written works and find his teachings to be priceless.

  • Great Video

  • I am very glad that Vivekananda was greatly accepted in the U.S. I am glad that he came to teach in America, and not just India.

  • Very inspiring. I view this whenever my mind is restless and it never failed to help balance, so far. Words fail to grasp him or his words.

  • admirable swami vivekananda

  • he was god, a hindu a indian so very proud of him whta he has taught us ignites the indomitable spirit

  • "he looked like living buddha"

  • I was waiting for your reply and i am happy to have got it.what you have said is right i completly agree.unity is one and not multiples of ones. The ways might differ but the final goal is the same.

  • miquelmouta,i am glad u responded to my comment.I fell very happy when i interact with people who have similar view s as i do.what u said was right but remember that swamiji distinguished the east from the west.We are not the same people. Each and every country has its own destination.India was and is destined to a be"SPIRITUAL GAINT".

  • The conception of 'country' will vanish with awareness. Awareness vanquishes all error. Sadly, there are errant churches attempting to force the issue to their own benefit, with much attendant suffering.

As the Buddha correctly noted, there is no division of East and West in the sky...it is only mans errant opinion.

There are ever only two types of man...the open hearted and the closed.

  • it is our own mental attitude which makes the world what it is for us. Our thoughts make things Beautiful, our thoughts make things ugly. The Whole world is in our own Minds. LEARN to see things in the proper light.(I.440-41)

  • it is an honor to be born in a country which has produced a great soul like swamiji.

  • No doubt. Congratulations. But I would like to remember , that Sri Ramakrishna said that the cosmic power and intelligence, and love, of god , is not exclusive of this or that counttry.

  • yes u r true...... my frnd..i believe what u said"cosmic power and intelligence, and love, of god , is not exclusive of this or that counttry. "

    cares

  • @swasasheeru country is just a concept in ur mind friend. We r all creatures f dis land r u can say we r all part f dis land. wen we die this body becomes dis land... everything else is da mind

  • @WazDDR I agree with you that country is a concept in ur minds, but remember that until we have reached unity with the ONE(god),we need concepts like country, religion, guru and so on to drive us in a way that will allow us to reach unity.

  • @swasasheeru how do u know there is god? god is also a concept inda mind.

  • @WazDDR good question my friend, until this mind of ours responds to nature in the way nature has tuned it to respond god and even ''devil'' will exist.

  • lol no buttercupvanilla...

Hinduism is the oldest religion in the world, it was made long before any man in europe...

the oldest civilization was in India which is currently under water (7000 years before any other civilization even egyption)

Hinduism is there the day man put his foot on earth...

  • Swami Vivekananda belonged to that branch of Vedanta that held that no one can be truly free until all of us are. Even the desire for personal salvation has to be given up, and only tireless work for the salvation of others is the true mark of the enlightened person. ..Hmm? Stll he was an amazing Yogi or Sannyasi.

  • And as much as you or anybody wants something not to be real, it doesnt make it not real.

And it is MORE than wonderful that these "things" are Real, and no I dont live in a magical land of pixies and unicorns :) Vivekananda was an enlightened Guru.

If these concepts are not a reality for you then why do you feel the need to troll through these videos leaving pointless comments? Why not look at things that interest you and that you CAN relate to?

    Just a thought.

  • Got anything interesting to say?

  • mrpoly5555, what I said should be very interesting to you, seeing as vivekananda claimed to be an enlightened guru. While it would be wonderful if these kinds of things were a reality, they are not. And as much as you or anybody wants something to be real, that doesn't make it real.

  • Why not? Is God outside of man? Should we look outside of ourselves for God? Or is it all a myth?

  • A few words about this GREAT SOUL :

Rabindranath Tagore,a Nobel Laureate:"If you want to know India, study Vivekananda. In him everything is positive and nothing negative."

Mahatma Gandhi:"His writings need no introduction from anybody. They make their own irresistible appeal and inspired me at every stage in my life"

Subhas Chandra Bose:Vivekananda is the maker of modern India

Aurobindo Ghosh:He was a soul of puissance if ever there was one, a very lion among men

Type his name in google & C

  • I should highlight that my late father had swami's large framed picture of 3ft by 2 ft in size along with that of gandhi. But it was when i won a prize for hinduism a book about swami vivehanda in which swami's chicago speech shaped my life ever since carrying his photo where ever i lived. His eyes to me had authority and confident in his knowldge of the hinduism as should have been practiced.I remeber still_there is no point in worshing in 100 temples if you cannot see the suffering of poor.

  • It isn't just the religion known as 'Hinduism'; it is the understanding of what is. Of real understanding of human nature and the nature of our existence.

  • Well described about swami vivehanda whom i had similar view when i was a young boy of 7

  • WOW! What a blessing to have found this incredible testimony. For anyone interested in Swami Vivekananda, I would suggest that you research the life and teachings of his incomparable teacher, Ramakrishna. Vivekananda was a disciple of the GREAT Ramakrishna and this is how he became such a spiritual giant. JAI SHRI RAMAKRISHNA!

  • this old woman was so lucky that she saw Swami Vivekananda...... I hope I would also be there with him.

  • sounds like he was an inspiring man

  • he absolutely was dude!

  • That's a glowing testimony.

  • Good job. Thanks for sharing this video.

  • Namaskar, brothers and sisters. There should be only ONE question in our live: "How am I pleasing my LORD today?"

  • No words!

  • This guy is great, his mind flows right into the atmosphere.

  • I went to a place where swamiji used to stay... I was singing songs in my mind.. When i entered the premices my song was stopped and after half an hour i got out and the song started from where it was left.. So strange swamiji's staying had made the place so peaceful that by some invisible force my mind stopped singing song..

  • same thing happened to me at almora where i visited a room he used to read in.

  • Swamiji was such a beautiful soul... i wish i could see him.. hear the lady s comments on his presence.. wow!!! she was so mismirised by his only presence.... i wonder how swamiji use to speak, talk, walk... i wish i could see swamiji.. BUt everyone shud be thankfull to india for producing such an amazing personality.... long live hindus//// :)

  • cool

  • beautiful

  • what a huge giant. He is so multi-faceted swamiji. He wears all different manners of dress and at times he is a modern gentleman and at other times the buddha of old and his words are alternatingly those of a scientific man, a mystic, and a bard. Yet the thing I like most about him is that there is no pretense or ego even as he has climbed to the highest summit of experience. Inspiring to hear this post from someone who saw him in person. Thanks.

  • Vande Mataram!

  • tank you , you are abig soul but iam much more humble and you should invite me to bolywood

  • Thank you!

  • VIVEKANANDA,neren was of special consciousness,a direct disciple of sri ramkrishna. Brilliant student with brilliant mind transformed the HINDUISM from its obscrunity with superstition to modernity of vedanta with full dimension of analytical mind focussed on self development and consciousness.upanishads and vedanta were reborn through him and in him.

  • I searched the whole World

  • divine men come ,do their work quietly and then go away. they dont want to come on this materialistic earth but when nature orders them they have to come....
