Youre very lucky. Since launch I had 2 in the first 2 years get a RRoD, but its hasnt happened again since, though my 3rd did have a disc drive issue, I was able to fix w/o microsoft support. I honestly think the Nyko Intercooler was to blame for the RRoD's but thats just been a theory I cant prove. I would strongly recommend that everyone stay away from Intercoolers, I think it uses too much of the consoles power and overheats it (yes an intercooler that overheats your sysytem lol)

I will tell you this, I have owned and still own my atari 2600, jaguar, NES, SNES, Genesis/CD/32x, Sega Saturn, PS1, PS2, PS3, Dreamcast, 3DO, N64, Gamecube, Wii, and original Xbox. They all still work just fine. I really doubt I was treating that one console wrong, did I forget to buy it dinner or something? I have been gaming for over 20 years and never experienced hardware issues like the 360 had with their early models.

i was just making a joke. But in all seriousness, I take excellent care of my consoles, I dust them, dont set anything on them, never left them on when away. it was just the early launches of the 360 that had hardware issues, they have since improved their models with the elite, and replaced the chipset, but the old 360's from like 4-5 years ago were notorious for their hardware failure.

I wont get a ps3 slim. I already have 60Gig with Hardware Backwards Compatibility and Install Other OS support. I have upgraded the hard drive to 320Gig I got for only $70 on newegg. That is another thing I love about the PS3. You can get a lot of storage for cheap. A 320 Gig HDD on the 360 would probably cost more than an elite.

correction, ps3 red light means stand by. overheating happens when u quit a game and the system shuts off. yellow light means death(1% chance of happening to newer models, 0.9% to 60 gb). blue means theres a disc in the system. dont try to correct this i read from manual, all were there execpt yellow and over heat.

I set my ps3 on fire and it had the blue light for at least 5 seconds so blue obviously means overheat and then I put it on standby and there were no lights on, I also took the cover off and put a disc on top of the circuit boards and put the top back on so the disc was inside the ps3 and to my surprize no blue light (of course I didn't set fire to the best console in the world your stats that there is a 1% chance of breakdown is a lie there is 0% chance of breakdown because it's made by sony

You put 2 towels around the 360 turn it on for 15 minutes let it over heat and then take them off and let it cool down for 15 minutes and then turn it on it works sometimes, but you need xbox live for the final part, and then your good. (that was the short way)
