  • Donnie yen is actualy called Master Ip in a movie.Master Ip is bruce lee's MASTER.So you know by the way.

  • Comment removed

  • i fuck donnie yen

  • nop ....bruce lee legend...the rest never had a real fight! donnie or michael jay ? hummm maybe tommy...jeet kune do FTW

  • their all good jackass

  • I like both fiqhters but if i had to pick JET LI all day. I mean he knows @ least 16 different martial art techniques. No direspect to Donnie Yen but on Ip Man all those speed punches were all done by computer. He can't punch that fast. Im not beinq a troll or anythinq

  • @efks13

16 styles? Not what I've gotten from researching on it. He's not that versatile, at least not outside Chinese styles. I don't think Jet even cares about MA training anymore, just by seeing how washed up he looks in his films now. And as far Donnie being slow, you're mistaken. Search bts or amateur footage of him performing in real time, it's def not slow. His MA background is more profound and his years of gaining knowledge as well as real experience is broader.

  • Both are masters at what they do, jet li wushu, and donnie yen at mma/street fighting. Donnie yen was very impressive in ip man and other movies and jet li is very good live and in his movies also and he was champion in wushu at jus age of 15. We shouldnt disrespect them by sayin who is better and worse

  • Martial arts like wushu is based on agility, technique, fluidity and many more. That I guess Jet is untouchable. Martial arts nowadays is more about"get straight to the point!", "don't be around the bush!" attitude. That's Bruce Lee's philosophy. I think Donnie believed that. Street fighting wise I think Donnie got the edge. He's fast with his hands (ever since Ip Man movies cos not much kicking in Wing Chun. That's why he's been practicing hard for the movies). During his younger days his kicks

  • Donnie Yen lost to Li twice on screen.

  • @Araghid He had too, its part of the script duuhh

  • Donnie Yen - Faster Jet Li - Stronger Bruce Lee - a Fusion Between Both of them and More

  • Donnie Yen - Faster Jet Li - Stronger

  • Donnie Yen!!!

  • donnie yen all the way after watching Ip Man i am with him

  • yip man > bruce lee > donnie yen > jackie chan > jet li

  • They are both gud but i'd go with Donnie : D

  • Donnie Yen without a shadow of a doubt! Absolutely luv the guy..

  • Donnie Yen...............

  • After Donnie Yens demonstration of wing chun in Ip Man. I'm going with Donnie Yen all the way. If you haven't seen Ip Man watch that shit. It's on Netflix! Best Martial arts movie I've seen in a long time.

  • Donnie scare me more than Jet Li.

  • Donnie Yen is good

  • that is true i am a black belt in martial arts and i study bruce lee i have some of his books and most of his shit he knew was self tot he was a good fighter he is my hero so if you dont no shit about him then shut the fuck up and its not about who is the beast its how you look at martial arts its self i take martial arts verry seriously just like jeet kune do

  • @MrYoungralph15 What Martial Art are you a blackbelt in?

  • I prefer Donnie.

  • Donnie yen FTW

  • JET ALL THE WAY

  • boogie21003: u think jet li is the best cause of effects, but in bruce lee´s time wasn´t any digital effect, nor good movie story (like nowadays), and nor martial move ideas yet!!!

anthonybazan1: i agree with u, i too hate when people dont know what they are talking about like this "boogie21003"

  • Jet li is way better then bruce lee. On and off screen. Way better by common logic. I think jet li > all but donnie yen is a close second

  • top 5...bruce lee...donnie yen...jet li...tony jaa ...jackie chan...

  • Donnie Yen watch Ip Man 1 and 2 or Legend of the Fist

  • Donnie yen hands down jus watch ip man 2 to see for yourself

  • jet li

  • Jackie Chan, Jet Li, Donnie Yen, Samo Hung are all great kung fu actors, You can never compare these guys since each of them have their own styles

  • I would also throw on 11. Billy Blanks 12. Samo Hung 13. Cynthia Rothrock 14. Dolph Lundgren. And again from my below statements (top martial artists/actors)

  • 1. Bruce Lee 2. Jet Li 3. Donnie Yen, Chuck Norris 4. Jackie Chan 5. Tony Jaa

    6. Van Damme (1980s) 7. Bolo Yeung 8. David Bradley 9. Sho Kosugi 10. Maybe Steven Segal. Top 10 that come to my mind. Bear in mind from my comment below top martial artists/actors its a combo platter. lol

  • Comment removed

  • @mttpaul85 i know your comment on here was removed, but i saw what you wrote me when i checked my inbox. Dude it wasnt in any particular order relaxxxxxxxxx!!!!!!! and chuck norris is the 60's was really good!

  • @JSuede101 YEP MEN, BRUCE LEE, DONNIE YEN, BRANDON LEE, DAN INOSANTO, Bolo Yeung, Tony Jaa, The others are just 0000000

  • I know about these fighters real well. Very hard to say I like them both. If I were to put money on one of them to win, I would have to go with Jet Li slightly over Donnie Yen. Top Martial Artists/Actors of all time (not including UFC Fighters and MMA guys) I would go with these guys as follows: FYI this is soley based on my opinions based on experience both teahcing and training in the Martial Art world, knowledge of these fighters, proven track records/fight experience. I'll post above.

  • Jet li

  • Sorry, Donnie Yen is not a true master of any martial arts but Jet Li is..so do not even compare Jet Li to him...Just look at Donnie Yen's biography before you compare...Is all I'm saying....

  • @wildh34rt Maybe You should do some Research He's a Grand Master of Wudangquan & Also A wushu Expert You fool

  • @wildh34rt Wow lol you need more research for sure. In a real fight Donnie would beat Jet with Kickboxing, muay thai, and BBJ.

  • @wildh34rt

Do more research instead of looking at a bio before you make empty conclusions... That's all I'm saying... ;)

  • tambien goku sta bien!"

  • el mejor es bruce lee y Yip man punto....los demas meros imitadores del verdadero arte del Jet kun do o Wushu

  • also i like the movies best of the best, phillip rhee, and eric roberts, wow, i love them so much he so good, check philip rhee martial arts out

  • bruce lee, donnie yen, jackie chan, jet li chuck nories, tony jaa, there are all good in there way, the speed and quickness, bruce lee the all fame martial arts, hes no dowt still no sorry still the best, jet li is good i love him his martial arts is out standing, quick, with his hands, donnie yen is amazing with the film ip man, jus out standing again, jackie chan, he the best in the world at drunking master, his movies and martial art out standing to, tonny jaa never heard onk bak have a lk

  • Donnie, jet, and Jacki are all to close 2 call! These guys are fucking MASTERS in what they do!! Ive seen my fair share of MA movies n i promise u they all have there moments where they seem unbeatable! But i must say Donnie Yen is the most underrated out of all! He truly is "something else"!! Dont believe me?, Check out Ip Man! But... Bruce Lee takes the cake!! Hands down!! He is, was, and forever will b the greatest and all of the above named Martial Artists will and have admitted it!!

  • goo donnie yen go

  • BRUCE LEE idk why but people barley even know bruce lee anymore so sad

  • @AlanHa2472 i know who bruce lee is, he is the best

and yes it is sad, people dont know him, neet to watch eneter the dragon

  • Donnie Yen...

  • Dude. Donnie Yen is a definition of badassery. Jet Li, in my opinion, I respect him and he is good but he doesn't seem to excite me the way Donnie Yen does in his movies - especially those Chinese based. They always make me rewind and just go... "Wow. o__o"

I mean, I'm just watching Flash Point. The second time today I've watched it. <3

And - happy new year, everyone!

  • they both fight with a unigue style...

  • Donnie Yen of course even donnie yen over tony jaa in another youtube hit............ Donnie yen is under dog in terms of popularity but ............ his background style choreography speed....... Puts him ahead. After seeing Iron monkey and some other films i was forgot bout jet and every body else saw all the hype with jaa .. still haven't seen all of Donnie yen's movies which makes it good. seen everyone else. Donnie yen all the way still an under rated but highly praised

  • i would really doubt jet li would win... bases on size. I know it depends on martial arts. but donnie is tougher, fitter. 2. while donnie yen as same wushu capabilities as jet li, he also mastered BJJ, Boxing, Wrestling, etc... he has lots of advantages... donnie yen nunchaku skills alone is undescribable, he's like Bruce Lee reborn.

  • Jet Li!

  • donnie yen of course

  • Comment removed

  • @thesoulsurvivor456 when......and do u have evidence?

  • @thesoulsurvivor456 evidence please

  • @thesoulsurvivor456 er...jet li probably didn't even start any fight. besides, in the making-of for "cradle 2 the grave", jet said that he wouldn't even want to fight for real against those mma fighters in one of the fight scenes.

Donnie practiced martial arts around the world when he was young so whoever he fought probably wasn't some street punk, wouldn't blame him if he really lost.

Fighting skill - they should almost be equally as good.

Fight choreography - Donnie Yen all the way~

  • both are great and none of you would have even touch them.. and that bullshit about some guy in boston? come on, theyve trained numerous martial arts style for their whole live, do you really belive that? :D some FUCKIN guy in BOSTON? REALLY?! :D :D

  • Jet li and donnie yen have got same master and they both have same reputation recently, but jet li got number 1 Chinese Martial Art prize.

  • I would say Donnie Yen is better I like him better.

    But they are both good!

Jet Li has done so many hollywood movies, and he still cant speak english properly..

  • Equal.

  • Donnie Duh!!!

  • donnie yen

  • Donnie yen because he studied and did martial arts his whole life

  • donnie yen

  • jet li would kick his ass he his faster and stronger jus by watching his movies u can tell that

  • @deebo658 Typical delusional idiot.

  • No doubt Donnie Yen he improves himself along with his films and always brings something different he used mma fighting in SPL and Flashpoint and then Wingchung for the Ipman movie but I been a fan for years before any of my friend knew of him back when they were Jet Li crazy I thought he was better to me Jet Li's best american flicks are Kiss of the Dragon & War

  • I think they're both amazing in their own aspects.

  • Cheer up guys jet li and Donnie yen is a friend

  • Hum, Donnie Yen is part of my inspiration.

  • Donnie Yen is better!! In all aspects!

  • wing chun is also created by a woman and her name was Yim Wing-chun look it up

  • dumb asses donnie yen was not bruce lee trainer he was playing the role of bruce lees trainer becauces grandmaster yip man (ip man) is dead and donnie yen is not if you really thought he was bruces trainer then you need to do a lot more research mostly this refers to GREEK1749 you idiot.....to most people this might seem like a stupid comment but i take martial arts seriously and i hate when people dont know what they are talking about

  • you that dont now is that doonie yen is bruce lee trainer his name change to ip man

  • donnie yen is dead:(

  • DONNIE YEN OWN HIM NO TALK DOONIE YEN WAS BRUCE LEE TRAINER

  • Jet Li,Donnie Yen,Jackie Chan are all great actors in their own way....you really can't compared them to each other. Even in their kung fu fighting style.....love them all.

  • @ytkingster I don't really consider jackie chan a martial fighter anymore. he jokes around in his movie too much. when he cames to hollywood, basically EVERY single movie sucks EXCEPT rush hour series. Jet Li is alrite, he did hollywood movies but kept his attitude regarding MA. as for donnie yen OH MY GOD, everysingle movie is in hong kong, LOVE IT. no single movie is bad, maybe storyline sucks, but his fights (directed by himself) are amazing.

  • @ytkingster I'll Drink to that Agree 1000%

  • @DooKNo1 True. But I at the time, I hadn't watched those movies. Plus, the plots for some are great, but the dialog doesn't ful it properly, TO ME. Just my opinion.

  • donnie is definitely better on screen but jet lee has a more optimistic attitude off screen. Donnie = Serious on screen and off screen. Jet = serious in movie and optimistic off screen. Jet is alway smiling and laughing when he talks if he isn't making a film.

  • surely, Donnie is better, dont forget that he is directing for action in the movies, so he's actor and action director in the movies.

jet li is so lucky since he worked in USA, also if you notice that jet li is flying in all his movies, i mean all his movies not inculdes real fighting or real kung fu.

  • Okay. To all that keep saying "Donnie never worked in America", or something to that equivalent, he DID. AND in Germany, as well! Don't just read wikipedia, actually look around you.

  • Donnie Yen

  • both are great, but they are different

  • Donnie yen is Better

  • @DannyChan1995 he's just younger than jet li

  • I did not have enough space for Jet li. Why because I didn't speak enough about his Kung Fu it speaks for its self its more based on Practical what works and sometimes he will play with it and do a technical Technique meaning something extra special and complex with fluidity. Very fast in fact probably same if not more speed then Bruce lee himself. Even Donnie yen could be up to par on speed to u see it sometimes. Will be responding Brother! Martial Arts is Human Being!

  • -Donnie- New Age Rawness .. Sure Good Kung Fu. Taught by his mother and learn many others through the years and in FACT Mastered Wing Chun Kung Fu In 9 MONTHS! even son of Yip Man confirmed it himself. Even stating that he would be average or above previous Masters in the old times. -Jet Li- Started when he was even younger and was trained very well learning many styles in his time EVEN From the Shaolin very Intellectual person he even used to write poems if you guys didn't know that.

  • Donnie Yen Knows Wing Chun so he wins automatically lol.

  • Donnie Yen Donnie Yen Donnie Yen Donnie Yen all the way.

  • Donnie's the MAN now. Plus he really matured himself as a successful producer/director bla bla bla and he still can kick serious ass. He still got this hunger and is gettin better n better. I guess he felt that there's no one right now who can produce/direct/act since Jackie's departure. I'm sure Hollywood tried to get him there and maybe he reject cos he wanna do somethin more worthwhile to HK movie industry. He doesn't like to do crappy stereotype fighting movie but that's just my opinion.

  • I perfer Donnie Yen. Better expressions, better footwork, more emotional, unique action films, more responsible behind the camera, so on and so for. Luckily, he's not with Hollywood now. Hollywood martial arts films really sucks and their choreography aren't that great. Hollywood should have hire an experience martial artist choreographer. For example, Sammo Hung will be perfect for the position. The only hollywood martial art film i like is Bruce Lee: Enter the Dragon. Old but unique.

  • I prefer Donnie Yen. I also think he is overall a better actor. Gives more feeling to his movies.

  • vote for donnie yen :)

  • I have my vote on Donnie Yen.

Street Fight style all the way.

  • they're both kool i love the one and i saw Ip Man today it was the shit to bad the late grandmaster is not alive today along with his former student Bruce Lee watch Ip Man itl blow your mind

  • sohn

  • Lol you can't say only by what you see in the films... I've never seen any of them really fighting but ive seen jet li making a perfect chang quan and I think donnie could do it also since they both came from the beijing wushu team...

  • I think Jet Li win in tournament because he have a history of winning in competition. Donnie Yen probably win in street fighting due to his history in Boston Combat Zone. In reality, street fighting is more realistic because anything can become a weapon like a pen, rock, tree branch, a tea cup, etc...Kick or hit your opponent when they are down. I will probably side with Donnie.

  • Comment removed

  • donnie yen is better with good speed and foot work

  • DDONNIE YEN

  • if you think about it &look at all there fight scences they r the same fast good techniques and styles but i think in da long run jet li mite get em cuz wen he gets mad its over donnie is a real good fighter and yah he is getting big but not as big as jet li tho and yah donnie is underground wit it tho in china maken them real fightin moviez like tony jaa he do hiz stuff real too but i think there is no comparison wit these guyz here

  • imo they are both equally good. But i must admit, that i watched all of Li's movies, while i watched just about half of the movies, which Donnie made. So it can be, that i missed some of the better ones out. Jackie Chan is a riddle for me. in 2009/2010 he made 2 of his best and 2 of his worst movies. Little Big Soldier and Shinjuko Incident are very good, while Spy Next Door is crap.

  • DONNIE Yen WUD KICK JET LIs ASS DONNIE TRAINS BETTER DAN JET LI JET LI IS HERE for FAME DoNNIE DOES it Because thats HOW he GREW UP

  • @LILbrandon245 Word

  • Donnie Yen by far. Donnie is constantly improving himself in terms of martial skill and in terms of his movie work. Like others have already said, Yen has stayed in HK and has faired much better than Li. While Jet has hollywood exposure, his movies have gotten stale in comparison to Yen. Not to say Li is bad in anyway as his movies arent that bad (compared to Jackie chan, now what the fuck has he been doing to himself lately...), just not as good as Yen.

  • Most jet li movies that are out are pretty terrible... Especially the same shit with DMX

and pretty much all his american movies

But then again he has Once upon in Chinas and Fearless

    and shaolin

And I recently have seen a few more of Donnie Yens work like

Drunken Tai Chi / SPL / Flash Point all have good fithing

  • wtf

  • On/Off screen definitely it is Donnie Yen especially without weapon.

  • DONNIE YEN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Both have made some damn good movies... But I like the way Donnie Yen fights

I think it comes down to your personal opinion... It isnt like we can judge who is a better fighter like we can with Donnie Yen vs Keanu Reeves

Donnie Yen has some good fight scenes in every movie I have seen of his

Like Killzone/ Flash Point/ IRON MONKEY! / Seven Swords

  • Donnie Yen.

  • Jet li and donnie yen have been in a couple of movies, "once upon a time in china 2" and "Hero" both are very good, in my opinion jet li is better but that sir is a tough call, donnie yen is great and exceptional as well, but im going with jet li

  • The fighters is mixed Martial Arts have to be considered Like BJ Penn, Geo StPierre, Silva, Rampage Jackson, Brock Lesnar & the Russian fighter. As far as martial arts actors, I would say Jet Li, Tony Jaa, Donnie Yen, Jang Kwang Lee (has the best kicks), Tio Liang, John Liu, Jin Kim (young Korean fighter who as excellent kicks, Cassanova Wong, Gordon Liu, Bas Rutten.

  • donnie yen is good but jet li is better

  • Donnie Yen

  • I think Donnie Yen

  • tony jaa has used wired as a stuntman before ong bak. tony is more of a acrobatic guy and what happened on set is fake. There were also cgi in the protector. Hes got alot of other stuntmen to make him look good.

  • tony jaa is good but what;s a martial arts movie without cgi and wires...it gives u a sense of the fantasy and emphasizes it...tony jaa is mainly muay thai...if theres a good multi style fighter out there im sure he would take jaa out like nothing..jaa is a guy who basically flies everywhere breaking bones etc.

  • @vuevang I think the whole "fantasy" martial art genre is bull shit

I like my martial art movies w/o tons of wires and flying... Well the matrix is an exception because they justify it... But stuff like Crouching Tiger I hate

And Jaa is amazing... You obviously havent seen Ong Bak 2 where he utilizes so many different styles and the camera doesnt need to switch frames after every hit

  • @supmayne1 i go both ways wires and not....i tried watching ong bak 2 but fell asleep haha

  • @vuevang

I feel you there. Tony Jaa could be good for all I know, but his movies terrible on so many levels to me that I can't bring myself to watch them. I've only really seen the movie where he was protecting that baby elephant and that was more comical than anything.

  • @tokinblckgie thats the only good movie i seen from him so far...tony's martial is good but they need new writers

  • @tokinblckgie So right tony jaa is a amazing action star his fight scenes are great mostly in ogbak 2 but the story is so unbearable you wanna fast foward til you see action so to me he just needs a good story that makes sense together with his fight and he could be great

  • @supmayne1 saying fantasy ma genre is bs is the same as saying spiderman, ironman, batman are bs. The chinese didnt have those heroes in disguise but kung fu masters with super abilities instead. Without the fantasy genre eg wirework hollywood wouldnt be at all successful in fight choreography

  • @supmayne1 i completely agree with you

  • seriously best fighter was bruce lee but i contents of jet lee vs donnie jet lee would win but it would be a great fight 2 watch

  • Should setup a MMA match between Fedor Emelianenko and a 500lbs silverback lowland gorilla.

  • WTF

  • read description. 'on screen martial artist' fedor doesnt make movies

  • donnie would win

  • well i'll like to say difrent ppl have difrent taste. its like someone like fighting and others like music. but for me donnie r more reality in his movie. but jet li shows the real chinese traditional martial arts, anyway i've like to say donnie looks better for me :D

  • ill say donnie yen yeah..dis guyz got da whole ku fu packig + da MMA skills as well..but jet li he is da man..so yeahh mte ill say Donnie Yen...

  • i like donnie yen

  • they are all good in their own style, but there is a new comers named Tonny Jaa and Johnny Tri Nguyen :)

  • actually they did have a fighting match in the first Once Upon A Time In China movie. And about the best martial artist.. well they're not the best but surely they can kick ass on the streets for real..!

  • donnie>jet cause donnie plays piano :D

  • donnie yen made the right decision to stay and make hk and films in china.i would say its best not being overly famous as hollywood would be tempted to drag him in and make crappy movies. you just cannot compare hollywood films such as the transporter to ip man.

  • Jet Li will always be a greatly admired individual for me cause i've been seeing his movies since i was a little kid but i don't know but there's something about donnie yen that i just find so entertaining in his films.

  • He Fights Him In Hero .. I Like Both Of Them Tbh.. But Jet Li Is My Favorite!!!!! Out Of All .. I Love Him :)

  • it's a tough decision, jet lee toned down his fights for american made films, he said he doesn't want people to see kung fu as violent, blah blah yada,, they are both really good at kung fu, donnie on the other hand doesn't try to tone down his fights which i like.jet li isn't just praise because he took the hollywood route, he's basically a master of almost all weapons out there, look up his weapons demonstrations and you'll see that he's not hollywood made, the decision is up in the air

  • donnie yen's better coz he played as ip man and he was good at it imean he 10 black belts check it out i like how he punches ast and bone breaking thats so frkin awesome!!!!!!!:D

  • dude, those punches were modified, but don't misunderstand me, i still like donnie yen

  • Donnie yen is alot better

jet really doesnt have much talent as donnie yen

jet li is just fast. thats all im giving

    DONNIE YEN FTW

  • Tough one. If they both did a martial arts demonstration Jet's form would be more correct and he'd be more graceful IMO but in a full contact match I'd have to go with Donnie because he has more experience in this field. Jet is the better performer and Donnie is the better physical actor. I love them both anyway and it's a shame that Donnie doesn't get the recognition he deserves. He needs a breakthrough role in hollywood if he wanna be famous worldwide but he's in his 40's now so...

  • Hollywood is nothing for Donnie. That's why he's giving us the stuff we all have been longing to see since Jackie and Jet went abroad.

  • I'm not saying Donnie has to make a hollywood movie but if he does and it's successful he'll be as famous as jet li.

  • Indeed. The thing is that he's not getting much attention outside Asia due to limited promo. Maybe hooking up with Quentin Tarantino or RZA (both huge fans of MA flicks) would help alot.

  • Well Tarantino is planning a 3rd Kill Bill movie and Donnie would be a badass villain or something and it would reunite him with Yuen Woo Ping they haven't worked together in like 15 yrs.

  • Hey, that's a great idea, I bet Tarantino would love to worth with Donnie. I'd definitely support a 3rd Kill Bill with Donnie as the villain... he made for a real badass in Shaghai Knights.

  • 100% Donnie Yen

  • Donnie Yen hands down. Jet Li is hollywood. Donnie Yen is the stuff.
