While the lead girls were great, I had some big reservations about the Australian production of Wicked, in particular Defying Gravity. Here is my list of issues: 1. Didn't come across as dramatic enough, a bit rushed 2. Terrible orchestra - what is with that stupid riff sound towards the end and an overall lack of depth 3. Lift way too slow 4. Too much smoke combined with poor lighting which had the effect of 'hiding' Elphaba and the townsfolk. Other productions show Elphaba & the cape clearly

I saw it twice it was AMAZING!!!....First time with Jemma but I was so dissapointed when second time wasn't her =( She is just the BEST ELPHABA =D <3 Thanks for the upload it's amazing

@disneydanny2 yea, in aus they did that. Before it started, during intermission and at the end the map was down. I i remember correctly they took it up for the applause at the end when all the cast bowed and stuff :P

Of course, an outstanding Defying Gravity from one of the worlds best Elphaba's. I get the whole 'respectful Brisbane audiences', but I thought they would've, at least, clapped when she said 'It's me!'. Great footage, by the way! :)

Yes, she was great but not to the standard of Jemma as YouTube comments testify throughout many uploads of the Australian version. When I first saw the ads for wicked in Melbourne, I thought the add was annoying and it looked dumb. 1 year after I learnt of Wicked (like, in full, away from the crappy ads and proshots), and I've been in love ever since. Now I regret not seeing it. :(
