ultramarines were my first space marine chapter. other then space wolves and blood angels i can not really relate to any other chapter by game terms.

Eldar, maybe, Orks - No way. Orks, when they die, reproduce via releasing seeds on death. So if you kill an ork, you're pretty much adding to their populations growth.

You mean spores :/ Plus flamers prevent that. And if Orks vs Necrons it wouldn't work since they would disintergrate hence they couldn't release any spores. Same for nids since they digest them.

Yeah, but imagine the amount of ammunition consumption it would take for the imperium to rid an entire planet of ork spores? And the frequent recurrence of the Tyranids and Necrons encountering the orks? The Imperium is attacked by the orks a billion times more than the Tyranids or Necrons encounter the orks.

Very little if they destoryed the planet :P but yeah it would take alot otherwise and doubt they'd do that since they only use such a weapon for Choas.

Really? I thought Primarches don't count because they are "sons" of the Emperor, making them awesome! But, yes, Marneus Calgar is close to being "Primarch-Epicness". He's a good hero. From what I've heard, they killed a bunch of daemons. Right? Damn it. I got it wrong. :(

Heh, he is one step away from Primarch-epicness. Tell me, how many Space Marines can say that they killed a Demon Prince, a Avatar of Khaine, 3000 Orks in one day and three dozen Hive Tyrants and Carnifexses? The answer: none. And thats what fluff says about him.

@HammerOfSigmar but the current codex for the space marines essentialy is the army book for ultramarines, and every other "Codex" chapter..the codex now is exactly how an ultramarines codex would be, because they adhere strictly to the codex, so they couldn't make a different one for ultramarines alone

@HammerOfSigmar see that's why the fourth edition codex was awesome (I don't know if you play or played back then) but you could give your chapter different traits to represent slight variations...I wish they still had something like that for the semi codex chapters
