  • I've always thought that to bring Penny back just make it where she was the one watching Dr. Horrible do his thing for Bad Horse and the death was just faked. That she is actually part of the Evil League of Evil. I mean, how else did the ELE know whether he he was succeeding or not and she always seemed to be right there wherever he was.

  • If I had a choice, I'd have Zombie Penny turn up, seeking revenge against Horrible and Hammer both -- since they're equally to blame for her death.

  • @YugSihtTsuj Hammer is the only one at fault for her death.

  • @mynameismatt2010:

What does common sense and rationale have to do with sweet zombie revenge!?

  • does anyone need anything made moist or slightly dampened?

  • @TruthBringer14 @pookagirl666 I loved reading your comments. Loving your ideas, especially having Seth Green as Johnny Snow.

  • I can't decide if I want Billy to bring Penny back to life, or prevent her from being in the accident, or not. It works well either way. I think that if he does bring her back to life, she should remember that he's "evil" and he has to go about trying to win her affections back. Or, she stays dead and he slowly begins to realize he can change the world without being evil. Just my opinion. I really would like it either way though.

  • @TruthBringer14 I kinda like the idea of Bad Horse bringing her back and using her against Dr. Horrible......maybe let her be bad for a while and out horrible him.....

  • @pookagirl666 That is an awesome idea! Then he has to try to get her to turn good.

  • @TruthBringer14 And maybe even team up with Captain Hammer.....

  • @pookagirl666 I don't know I hate Captain Hammer enough to be upset by her being with him again.

  • @TruthBringer14 never said anything about penny being back with Captain Hammer, but wouldn't it be cool if the Captain couldn't handle her bad-ass self and had to beg dr. horrible for help....

  • @pookagirl666 That's a good idea. I misunderstood your other post I thought you meant Captain Hammer teaming up with Penny, not Dr. Horrible. Look at us, we're plotting the sequel before it's even out.

  • @TruthBringer14 did i mention i want seth green as johnny snow.....

  • @pookagirl666 No...and that too, is good. Having Johnny Snow actually be visible!

  • @TruthBringer14 @pookagirl666 These are great ideas! Maybe Snow will be trying to make up for what he did in the graphic novel. Didn't he accidentally use an Ice Beam to freeze the city's water pieline or something?

  • I think that in the sequel (yes, they're making one!), Dr. Horrible will be working on finding a way to bring Penny back to life, or something like that!

  • @thehomemade THEY'RE. MAKING. A. SEQUEL?

  • I can't help but wonder.. Why /does/ Joss love killing women? Happy endings can't really be /that/ overrated can they?

  • @89Altair same dealio as stephen king. they get you emotionally invested in a character and kill em off, coz it means you'll watch it hoping they come back somehow. sometimes they bring em back but usually not.

  • i don't know how its possible but i would love to see penny back!!!!!!!!!

    felecia is aweosme

and it would be so sad to see her not there

  • I've a thought. Doctor Horrible is an Evil Super Genius. Very likely he has some kind of Supercomputer network or such. What if after Penny was killed he took her body, made a scan of her brain and then used that to create an AI Penny. It's better than the cloning idea.

  • Well you know, bad pennies always turn up again.... ;)

  • @Barl0we You are made of win.

  • Everytime a beloved character dies, you can bet nerdish fanboys will hope they just "clone her", which is OBVIOUSLY retarded. Death becomes cheesy, the impact of the story of her death is lost AND it sets a dangerous precedent.

Now, NPH's character IS crazy enough to try to bring back Penny (like Willow did with Buffy in season 6).

She's his only love, so he would never just MAKE A COPY FOR HIMSELF. More likely, he may try to time travel to save her (his studies already messed with time once).

  • U can say that, but this IS a way over the top silly cartoonish series about a SUPERVILLAN!!

OF COURSE he is gonna clone her.

  • @MasaruKato82 I think anything can be done in a script if you add logical boundaries. like IE, time travel = time paradoxes. cloning = nuclear power needed which is obviously dangerous. Personally I think cloning penny, who comes back evil, is a possible, and rather creative idea. good penny is evil. Maybe she starts hanging out with the ELE and Dr horrible wonders why he did it, conflict, etc etc. And perhaps the end is maybe he turns good to make sure she doesnt hurt anyone.

  • uhhh hello, tendoking got it close, not really an evil clone, just a normal clone. i'm sure billy wouldn't want to taint the woman he loved, so he'll try and find a way to transfer her brain and etc to a clone. i mean theres superheros and freeze rays, so why not brain transfers? he is a doctor with a phd in horribleness.

  • I'm sure that we'll see Penny as Billy's voice of conscience in the sequel or maybe he'll meet a character played by Felicia Day that reminds him of Penny. In any case, Penny is most definitely dead.

  • If Penny came back it would completely ruin the massive impact the ending had. Joss knows this and won't just magic her back up just for fan service.

  • @KonFoozed I wholeheartedly agree. Death becomes a non-issue when you can just get cloned/time-traveled/etc back to life.

  • LOL.

  • I like your version of events. Although Whedon said that Penny was 'definitely dead', I still want this to happen.

Those for looking for the interview it's on the DH wiki page as one of the source materials.

Awesome that there is a sequel on the way.

  • ....

That would take out all the meaning

and I have an odd feeling he's done that already

Did he do that with buffy?

  • Yes, he did resurrect Buffy. Twice, actually. Anyway, you're right! The meaning would be lost if Penny was brought back, DHSAB's power came from her death.

The deaths of Jenny, Joyce, Tara, Spike, Anya, Doyle, Fred, Cordelia, Lindsey, Lilah, and Wesley on "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" and "Angel" I'm not so sure about.

Boy, Joss sure loves a good tragedy... :)

  • Paul Ballard, Topher Brink, shepherd Book...

... BENNETT HALVERSON and freakin' HOBAN "WASH" WASHBURN!

So the spoiler is complete. :P

  • Whoa, people are very closed to different ideas here, huh?

  • Penny is always being underated by her peers. She in her own rights is a super hero, advocate for the homless. To cover all the possible donation locations, she created Penny bots. It's plain to see that when her bot was exposed to Capn. hammers 'feelings' for her on stage, she being a bot and not understanding these things backed away and even off stage. The Penny killed in that sceen was only one of her many Penny bots. The real Penny was at a homeless shetler 1/2 mile away serving soup.

  • @BlueLint that is an interesting POV....:D I like it! haha I never saw it like that before.

  • Penny could be back for Dr. Horrible sequel. Dr. Horrible can do a Mrs. Frankenstein thing

  • An evil clone. "Bad Penny".

  • ^^^^ this!

  • I can't wait to see Felicia on the big screen!!!
