@KleWdSide i know what you said, prolly i expressed it in the wrong terms...what i meant is that in spain, especially in barcelona, crowd is always very involved with the artist...even though 95% of them dont understand the lyrics
Jesus. When Suzie comes in with the Violin (mid-song), and Bruce starts wailing, and the crowd joins in...makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. So powerful. Then him and Stevie shredding the stage up. Can't say enough about this performance. If you don't have this show on DVD, I suggest getting it. Live in Barcelona.
I love this song, and this is the penultimate version of it. To me atleast, it's one of the bands best performances (that I've seen anyways). Epic, EPIC performance. Everyone brought it. Bruce is undeniably THE BOSS!
i see this live in the palau santjordi in barcelona. One of the best moments of my life, but i need say ,what,i jump the wall for enter .I no Ticket,i just, have a friend(big friend, manuel) know the place for jump to the concert. From this time ,2002 for the same place,i jump the wall, for see all the concerts, next Shakira in 24/11/10
I love Bruce music,my first in 1988 in the love express tour,(i pay)in the camp nou stadium of the FCBarcelona i love too.Greetings from Barcelona.
Such charisma... Bruce's music has the potential to shake the ground, break the heart, and rend the soul asunder... truly magnificent, beautiful and spectacular.
In 1974, I first saw a Young Bruce Springsteen. He was humble, talented, grateful to be where he was and determined to "play his ass off and show us a good time" The cover was 1 dollar. I saw him 5 times that year and through 2009, my concert total came to a close at 299. I am older now, as is Bruce, but for me everything that I felt and heard from that first concert, is still the same as I felt at the last time I saw him. There is not "ONE" word to describe this performance. Thank you Bruce.
This is such an amazingly touching song from The Rising, somewhat over shadowed as there are so many outstanding songs on what was such a meaningful and brilliant album!
A hugely underrated Bruce's song....it has everything: deep lyrics, beautiful and evocative melodies, power, guitar solos, and chorus in a psychedelic way that Bruce had never tried before.
The chorus reminds me of the chorus in "A day in the life" by Beatles...i just love this song cause it's so psychedelic and uncommon in bruce songwriting...really beautiful :)
The final solo by Bruce and Steve is sooo awesome!
This song is awesome. It simply contains every necessary element... ingenious music, great lyrics... brilliant voice... deep meaning... I just love it
R.I..P. FRUFF~ LORD OF THE MANOR~ 1952- 2009 Never missed a show or a chance to write about it. We went on a three day holiday through 3 states once. We couldn't get enough. Mark went on to Ohio the Florida. Mark and Danny and Terry all together now. Best seats in the house, eh Mark? Love and hugs, JoAnna aka Hector ( a one time co-conspirator)
Personaly my fav part is when bruce and patti are on the mic together. There is just a such an intense feeling of love and caring that you pick up watching them.

Love that lyric. In an album that's fittingly patriotic and American, it's great to have a sympathetic song to the difference in races.
