Okay this might sound wierd but I fell in love with this recording and then found the Yeah Yeah Yeahs original. The effect was that all the tension of their strangely out of tunedness of the two voices together was finally resolved for me by Karen O's magnificent performance of her song. Anyway it is almost unsingable except by her but the cool thing is that AF would do it anyway cause they love the song.

I dnt think the reason for a cover is to out do it's original artist,I was surprised to see arcade fire had done a cover of this song so I had to check it out.I didn't even think for a moment that they were killing the song or trying to out do it,that's not them & I happened to enjoy it,it was a little raw but it was them.& this band is in no way fake I've seen them life in San fransico and the were amazing in every aspect:)

I think they should have maybe sung the whole thing together. The parts they were singing together were mind blowing. Régine Chassagne's voice sounds breakable and Karen O's voice sounds like she's a tough girl giving in (maybe already broken). It's a good enough cover but fails miserably at living up to the original.

The one thing ppl need to realize is that ninety nine times out of a hundred the cover versions will never be better than original, so it is pointless to always keep saying so. But I think it is a great compliment when one band covers another. The YYY are awsome and I only wish more great bands would cover them and spread their music around.

You know, this isn't a great cover, but it's certainly not bad. When you cover a song you are supposed to put your own inflection on it, and that is exactly what The Arcade Fire did. I love this cover, honestly. It makes the song seem much more loving then it already is, because it's a duet. A lot of people can sit here and say the cover sucks because it's not a generic ripoff. Ignorance IS Bliss, after all

The singer doing Karen O's part tries hard, but Mother Nature just didn''t bestow the golden vocal pipes on her that she did on Karen! And the guy singing harmony is even worse, and adds less-than-nothing. They should have made it a purely instrumental version with no vocals at all! This was done live, I think in the BBC Studios during a radio show of some sort. I think it's a good cover, it starts off slow, which is typical for Arcade Fire. The integrity of the song is kept in this performance and that is what matters. They are not the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, so they will never perform this song the best.
