Surprised you didn't mix the bass line intro or the awesome chorus lines in here anywhere. I DO like this mix, though. It has a nice flow and you managed to slow the tempo of your groove to mix well with it. MAD PROPS SON ! !
It has a nice aesthetic, but it's just a little boring...if you imagine the song on a graph, with time as the X and energy level as the Y, it needs to make some nice curves and stuff, can't just be a mainly straight line with little blips scattered in randomly.
Good mix. The bass samples sound fine on my equipment. A bit more oomph when everything comes together might make it easier to fall into. The kick sample sounds like its cut short maybe? It lacks depth. Maybe just feeding its channel through a fast decay reverb filter would fix that? Just to soften the falloff and make it sound more organic, ya know? Just some ideas. Um let's see... ok maybe after all the stops in the beat, it could pick up all of a sudden instead of it just kind of stopping and then continuing. It would make the flow a little better. But seriously this is really good, keep it up.
