Nicely explained! It took me ages to master mills mess in my teens, but got it eventually. It is still one of my favourite patterns...good video 5/5 :)
Hey what type of juggling balls are you using? I can't seem to find any that are just simply round and a little squishy. The ones I keep finding all have odd shapes that are almost round. This makes them hard to catch and release in the correct direction
What ur looking for is hyper balls. They're the offspring of balls and beanbags. This means they are squishy enough, but they always keep a perfect round shape. Check out the MMX plus balls or the DX balls.
thanks so much, ive been struggeling with getting this for a while now, breaking down to two upper balls helped alot. i couldnt really figure out what was happening with the crossing and recrossing arms
FAIL. There is no "U Ball".....You're doing it wrong.
Your original statement about the 2 half-showers is correct. But then you let the pattern degrade and call it the U pattern.....that is totally incorrect.
You will see the difference if you check out how "ashomsky" learned it in his slow mo tutorial.
To all who are quite new to juggling tricks : try just throw a ball under your arm and see how it is, with both hands. Then check out how you do the under-arm throw in mills mess. There is a very simple difference, but it gives a very different and cool effect, the "false" shower. I recommend to not get confused by all theese part steps.
UNDER-ARM THROW: you do a normal cascade, and at some point throw a ball under your arm, crossing them. What you will then do "automatically" is get the arms back to normal, and catch the incoming ball, and keep doing normal cascade, OR continue throwing balls under your arms.
MILLS MESS: When you do the under-arm throw, dont uncross your arms before you catch the incoming ball. You have now learned mills mess, except you will have to learn this will both hands, and doing it simultaneously
The white ball explanation was very helpful ~ Thanks. I think I have noticed a pattern that might explain it better for some people. If you are right handed, right hand on top. this pattern should be: this would be the order you throw the balls in:
Right, left, right
left, right, left
right, left, right
left, right, left
Is this correct?
Also I am having a hard time leading into mills mess or getting out of it; what tricks work best to lead into & exit mills mess?
I don't understand. When I trow the first ball with my right hand and catch it with my left hand, the ball from my left hand goes in opposite direction then my right hand that should catch it :(
i wonder why this is called Advanced Three-Ball Juggling. mills mess was one the first trick i learned. its fairly easy trick compared to many other 3 ball tricks.
you know i always thought it would be really hard, but after i watched this about 20 mins later i have got it, no absolutely perfect, but ive got it!!
great tutorial, i learned this confidently in about 35 min. I think the trick is just not even to think about the 'U' ball when ur doing it, cause idk about other ppl but when i thought about it, it would just screw me up. ; )
ah, i thought that i was doing it wrong because i thought that the bottom ball followed a more consistent arc with the two others. i guess the slightly curved column throws i was doing are fine then.
thankyou so much, from this i learnt how to do the trick i spent 1hour practising it and now i can do it but not for along time, il carry on practising. :D
haha wow i guess it would have been easier to learn mills mess after learning the false showers, but unfortunately i did it the other way around. haha but at least i finally got all of them
You said it! Seriously, it took me literally a year of constant practice to get it down to perfection. I can do it easily now, but it was hard getting there.
mills mess isnt advanced its intermediate and half your intermediates are basics

I had a really really easy method of learning mills mess. It took me just about 2 days to learn the actual pattern and just over a weak to master it.
I assume you're not a very experienced juggler so ill start basic:
Just try throwing a ball under your arm. Not too hard right?
Well the ONLY difference between simply throwing a ball under your arms and mills mess is that you Catch a ball while you're Still under.

Oh, and I wouldn't call mill's mess "advanced." It was the first kinda hardish trick I learned. I'd call it intermediate at best.

Hey, best I've seen from Expert Village, keep it up... and maybe make your own channel rather than being a part of something so pathetic!
and... don't you mean it is three throw each way? or don't you count the bottom ball as a throw?

Mills Mess is not really that hard of a trick, and its not a false shower its called Windmills. Mills mess = a mess of windmills.
