It's easy for Mike to counter his opponents attack since his opponent is just attacking. In Jujitsu we learn you must off balance your opponent to throw, lock, or take him down. This Mike is very good. I would like to learn from him.
Good stuff! Like the waving and the root. Learned a coupple of things from watching. I'd love to see some realistic fighting/sparring though, that features distance/closing, realistic attacks, speed, fakes, kicks, punches, takedowns and so forth. Just a suggestion for future videos..
please note sparring is not same as fight- a fight is instantaneous and sparring is just slappin each other around. u just get in there, do ur thing, finish and do something else- like using the bathroom.
ishetrying, yes not muscular power, it will interfere in flow and cause stiffness, i use power but not muscle strength up front, its more like in reserve to aid if needed... hope that helps...
I get you. I thought that's what you meant but I didn't want to assume. My teachers have talked to me about putting intention into all the movements; can you share your thoughts on that?
awsome ...more great stuff....i really like the fact that you train with your students as training partners and i notice you let them push you too...cant wait to see you out here in the west coast.

I'm not sure what you mean about not being able to use power to do what you do, are you saying power and meaning muscular power?
Not trying to be an ass, just looking for clarification. I really enjoyed the clip.
